A-Series out P-40 in Just got a mental picture of Datto 1000 lying nose down, wheels sticking straight out and two blokes looking at with one saying" Handles like crap, drinks the fuel, but does wicked burn-outs"

DANGER WILL ROBERTSON DANGER!!! Don't even think of fliping your mainleaf, VERY BAD IDEA!!! At the very least It will snap like a twig sending your gonads into orbit and you will have to go to hospital to get the rest of it removed out of your backside. Lowering blocks yeh ok in the short term. You need to take it to a springmaker not someone that just sells suspension but someone the makes and repairs springs so that you can get a reset and extra leaf job. It won't cost that much and it will be a whole lot safer. I know I may sound a little preachy but I know what I am talking about I am a springmaker.

My nephew has got onto a very cheep Sunny(Suit Parts Only) for me I have know idea what body type or year model it is as yet though he seems to think it is a 5spd. He is not into Japanese vehicles and has no idea what he is looking at(I am still on my L plate). What details should I tell him to get eg: compliance plate numbers and or option numbers if they have them.
Did the Sunny come with a 5spd or is he most likely mistaken

Head lights are running 55/70 H4's at moment so there is no need to fit relays yet but I will be going up to 90/130 and 130 in the spots with 2 x twin New Era 30amp fused HD relays when I do the wire up for the spots. 1 for each side. I have set up lights like that before and have never cooked a switch, I wire in seperate fuse box's and use common netural links as earth points as well as extras at the lights and heaps of 4mm wire!!

I agree with ddgonzal. I have some good contacts in the suspension game being an ex spring maker and all. I will ask them for some figures and get back to you.

I FOUND ONE!! A while back I was bouncing around the site and I recall someone asking if anyone had seen a Datsun in a movie well I found one OK I know that I am going to get labled a geek for this one but, in Star Trek IV Voyage Home when Kirk and Spock are getting on to the bus to go and find the whales a brown Datsun Sunny Coupe goes around the corner in back of shot. Yes I like Star Trek movies! I have been watching Trek since it first aired here. I am so going to get bagged for this

The rim photo that I have used for my avatar are the wheels that I am looking at fitting to the Frog. 13x6 Cheviot old skool. A 8mm spacer fixed the wheel rubbing on the disc caliper.I also have some 13x5.5 Old Skool Magnums that don't rub at all but I only have 3. I wish to run some 185/70 rubber. I want to get away with as little cutting on the front gaurds as posible. So I guess I need to know how much of a trim is needed for if it is to much I may sell the 13x6's and go for 12x5 Speedlite or simular and standard rubber. I am getting to the point where the work on the Frog has to move on from the ideas to the getting on with it. Only hassle is that Frog has become my daily as I off-loaded the VR on to my daughter. Jeez Iam a cruel father Gotta love Datsuns to put myself in this position
