If i went full alloy checker-plate ... say 3mm would that be stable??? Weight too much???

I was thinking of a clear coat with 25% body colour???

With regards to smooth skin....

Is ther any issue with removiing rain wells and the ute ridge???

I have a bit of rust damage in these and was going to get the grinder out...

Run a bead with the mig all round and grind again ....

I was thinking of 2mm alloy sheet (covered with black vinal) with a clean skin body ... ie no ute ridge.. Would need some bracing under...C channel or the like

sits smooth with rubberised foam seal...

bit like this...

Would need chrome clips and would hinge at the normal position...

Emailed the seller and got a rather cryptic response....

It has a CA18 with a Garrett GT28 turbo the engine has forged pistons,metal head gasket,ARP head studs.It has a HALTECK E6X computer,front mount intercooler,sylvia dash,300ZX seats,surge tank,borg warner diff with 4/11 mini spoil,The body has had a bare metal respray the tail gate and rear quaters have been shaved all in all this little ute is a great car a lot of fun to drive a real head turner.
