In todays strict laws the coupe might suit a bigger engine if so desired.
Anyone know if the coupe deluxe weight of 675kg is wet or dry?
Also was there a heavier version of the coupe?
For a ca18det its need to be 725-730kg to comply.

Im not knit picking but im 90% sure in NSW the capacity to wieght law is based on the 4 door sedan model of the associated car in question, if applicable. I explored this as I wanted to put a 4AGZE in my coupe but it was 20cc to big. Feel free to correct me.

One thing we can take from this thread is that all 1000's kick arse. I would own any if I came accross the right one.

Im not sure what they have done to it but I like it. love the circle work.

Really D, I took the mirriors off my guards. Didn't think it would go with the rest of the car. But love the stock look, slammed with white walls and fender mirriors are a must.

I like wagon then coupe. In sedan i like 2 door heaps better than 4 door. I would have them all if I could.
Sounds like a cool road trip man, you should do it.

There's a bit more to it but if your handy you will work it all out. My dizzy cost around $700 to be converted to right angle drive. If you find the right engineer you might get an aftermarket ecu with a crank trigger passed.

If your going drive it hard or plan on making power, you need to get a sierra flywheel. I had mine lightened becuase its much heavier than gti. Front wheel drive exhuast was not even close on my 1000, could not even cut it up and make it fit for a test start. Brakes, diff, driveline, wirring are all givens.

You can find a bit of info on redlinegti.com. Blokes do this conversion to sierra's.

Nah dude, $100 is cheap for these extractors and for all I know you could live in Kuwait and I would have to send them on a camel.
