Hey neil,

What are the rear tail lights like?

The outside looks ok but what are the inner plastic bits like?

If good, put em aside and I'll pick em up when the next lot of brakes is ready.

Might do a little reading on four link set ups.
I always thought these were better for straight line duties as opposed to twisty stuff.

Neil - I heard about that IRS setup ages ago didn't realise it was you who was doing it - although i should have guessed!!

Is it a major headache? or something a backyard mechanic (me) with some professional help could achieve?

I'm not affraid of the work or cost just the difficutly level involved.

There's that pic of the alloy swaybar, I'll be asking topgear about that one! cheers

I knew the front swaybar wouldnt fit, it was the rear one that interested me - 1000's and 1200's having essentially the same rear setup i was hoping the rear bar would bolt straight up - anyone done this??

The idea of coilovers is interesting as well - i've seen it done on 1200's but never a 1000 anyone done it?

Come on 1 ltr owners!! - you guys must have dabbled in suspension before what have ya done??

The project has offically begun - two broken engine mounts have signled the begining of the 1ltr revamp.

Ok I know what I'm doing with the diff (lsd - thanks topgear), the gearbox and the brakes (discs - thanks dattoman_1000), the engine is getting a bit of a freshen up

The one thing i'm stuck on is the suspension.

I've read a few books and tried searching the site but I can't find anything on the 1000 suspension - I've had all the springs reset and installed new shockies but byond that I'm uncertain how to make it handle better.

Will a 1200 rear swaybay fit the 1000?
Do i need a swaybar at the front if it has the transverse leaf front suspension?

What mods have you guys done?

Cheers

The need for KB10'ing is too great and I must submit to the Datsun Addiction

Only i can't decide weather to start the mamoth task of restoring mine or buying a ready to roll one
