Hi all,

2 out of 4 of the 10mm bolts that hold the torque converter to the flex/drive plate have gone missing... does anyone know where I can buy them from? I tried taking one to a bolt supplier but they have no idea what the thread is :/

..Or does anyone have any second hand

Help is much appreciated :)

Cheers,
Sam

Yeah I'm running an auto rad in my Morris and it has the tubes for the auto so I thought I may as well hook them up if I can... might have to do some more digging I think...

Hi all,

Just wondering if the JATCO auto's have a provision for an oil cooler? Couldn't find anything in the manuals, wondering if this could be turned into one?

A stock A14 has gobs more torque than an A12

That's what I'm hoping! I spose I should have been a bit more specific with my post - I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences with how large a cam you can run without having to modify the converter? I was thinking of just running the stock cam, but I thought I may as well do it while I have the engine out now

I've started rebuilding an A14 to replace the A12 currently in my Minor and I'm after some suggestions for a 'nice' cam to suit the automatic. Its your standard run-of-the-mill rebuild, I already have custom extractors and the automatic is a 3 speed 3N71B. Has anyone had any experiences with cams behind an automatic? I know there's a thread floating around about race cams behind an auto, but I'm just after something a bit more tame for a bit of extra torque and a lil lope

Cheers,
Sam

EDIT: ...and the compression is around 9.5:1, maybe a bit more.

I've just pulled down my A14 to check it out and with the pistons at TDC there's about 1mm play in the pistons and a bit of a lip. So as the topic, how much is too much play? Will I be able to get away with a hone and a standard set of rings? ..or is there too much wear?

On the plus side all the journals/bearings are like new Gotta love how bulletproof these things are

My gf just got her P's and a little booklet with it with all the rules, etc. One of them states that you can't drive any car requiring a modification plate... if that helps
