To add: I ran a turbo with blow thru setup into a dellorto downdraught, and I had endless kak cause I didn't have a BOV. Every time you tap off and put foot again, you had a "too rich situation" and a flat spot.

Hey Clive, I lived in East London, SA, and used a copper gasket for a few years ( on both a turboed A14s & on a Mazda FE3 in my bakkie)without much problem. Your surfaces (head and block) have to be VERY smooth/good otherwise u pick up seeping. I had the block decked very slightly and the head. Used that spray-on Spanjaard copper gasket spray. If u boost past 1.4bar just order a Multilayer on the net, pay by card, and youll have your gasket in the post in 2 months. OR get LASERTECH in PE to make a copper one, the last 2 they made me were less than R200 each because I sent them a std one to use as a template, DETAILS 34 Hancock Street North End Port Elizabeth Tel: 041 487 3303. Fax: 041 487 2442.

Agreed, the 3 that I had for my business were all 1990-1991 models and far better quality than the newest (last) off the production line. Just the way that South Africa works - try and screw the consumer at all costs.

Dream on about the EFI fella, just the normal Hitachi carb on them. You can probably bring a complete body over though if ya willing to do some paperwork - they were R21000 (AUD3230) new out the factory when I left in Nov last year. Lot of the enthuthiasts there were buying new bodies instead of fixing/bogging etc. That would be the best idea.
