While on the subject, has anyone ever used a replacement door? i think i can get new ones for about $110, panels for $66, and a bonnet for $130. As one of my doors has a bit of tin-worm in it, i am thinking it may pay to get it replaced, and if the new ones are good enough, i may take that option. cheers, Linc. Oh yeah, i can get a new plastic grill for $80 too - wish i had a metal one though....

What sort of prices could i expect when looking to buy an A15? Are there any special types that i should go for?would it be cheaper to buy an old sunny or vanette, or to buy a motor by itself? Linc.

as i was working away under the bonnet of my sunny at the buggered water pump, i got to thinking about electric water pumps, and whether there are any that work with A series donks... I was talking to chris lott about them, and he didnt know of any (but we weren't talking about rocker cover physics, so he probably wasnt interested...), so anyone else know of any? are kits available, or modifyable? Also, geardrives - i asked about them a while back, anyone heard of any? cheers, Linc.

where do u live? and when are u home during the week? Those dragways are my second favourite wheels for 1200s - the first being the 4 spoke dragways (the ones that go thin to wide), and the 3rd favourite being the 12 slotters, like from the old fords. what condition are the rims in? they looked pretty snazzy in the picture, as did the car! did u know i had 200b struts when u posted that last message? wierd! cheers, linc.

If noone else takes em, i may get them off u in a few weeks, as i may be getting some more money then - and all i have are crappy old rims with retreads for my ute.... Who was asking for wheels originally? do u like them? Keep me posted as to whether they are still there or not.... Linc.

I want to build a n/a A15... if it is just n/a, do i need to worry about the bottom end? i dont want it to breathe fire, just be fast. How much headwork should i get done? I have twin 40 mm s/d webers in the cupboard, but they will work better on my engine. What sort of cam would be good? i have extractors, with a short 2 inch exhaust.. Is it difficult to change pistons? would higher compression pistons be better than normal ones? Is there much to be gained from boring out or stroking an A15?how good are stroker a15s? Also, how much are standard A15 engines worth? i figure i can get more done to an engine if it is on a stand, and especially if i dont have to drive it to work on monday morning.... How reliable are these engines when they are worked? the A14 in my sunny is the age of the car and is still fairly good - does high performance mean low life span? How much could a mild buildup cost, if i do most of it myself? cheers, Linc.

hey all - i have been told that for an engineer to pass my ute (a15, 200b frontend), i have to have the original carbie and all pollution gear hooked up to it - even the original airfilter! bugger that - was the engineer i talked to cranky, or are all engineers like this? has anyone gone to datspeed (penrith)for engineering? who was the other mob someone mentioned a while ago?someone brothers i think... also, how hardcore is a blueslip inspection? will they go over the ute with a magnifying glass? will they knock it back for being undercoated? cheers, Linc...
