yeah there was healthy debate on this a while ago (about the fuel anyway) and the general consensus was that LRP actually harms the engine over time. I have since talked to mechanics about it and they agree. Keep using the Optimax. with the better fuel efficiency, it doesnt cost much more, if any. Linc.

Nope, not drugs, just bushfire smoke. Ah, gotta love the Australian Christmas. About the throwout bearing... It was fine before, would it start making noises due to the box being taken out and put back in? Another thing i was thinking of was that i am using the vanette clutch (heavy duty) i got with the other engine - is there a chance it doesnt fit the 4 Spd? the engine came out of a 1200 coupe. Since i know dick about clutches, i am going to bore u with dumb questions. If the plate is centred, the clutch housing is bolted on tight, and the gearbox is bolted on straight, it should work shouldnt it? Ill start it up and drive it and see how it goes. thanks for all your help, hope u all had a great christmas day. Linc.

yesterday i finished putting everything back together, and started the car...the engine sounds great, but the clutch sounds like it isnt engaging properly...when the pedal is in, the sound goes, when the pedal is out, i get a sort of spinning noise... does it sound like it needs adjusting? Do i adjust it at the firewall? Oh yeah it is a sunny, with a cable clutch. the cable has a sort of circlip on it... Help please, i need my car. I'm going off now to drink some fanta. Linc.

Am i still in time to be dick head of the year? Have nominations closed? Now for the serious side of the post. I would like to warn you all of the dangers of working in your shed/garage late at night on your datsun. As i was getting the new engine (GSX ACT Model) ready to drop in, i accidentally bolted a whippersnipper on instead of the gearbox. the gearbox crossmember didnt line up either, but i was able to use the shoulder strap on the whippersnipper. I think this is why the clutch was making wierd noises - It could also have been that when i put the clutch on, i only did the bolts up finger tight(DICKHEAD MOMENT). The part about the whippersnipper was not true, the part about the floating clutch was true. Long live the Datsun, despite my efforts to fix them. Merry Xmas to all, except Bin Laden. Linc.

10-4 rubber ducky... We have recently comandeered a bedford van, and we will be using this as a mobile HQ / beer wagon. It will be fitted with both my spare motors, an a14 and an a15, in a V shape - it will combine the revvability of the a14, with the massive 69 HP of the A15. I will also get an orange gun from a neighbor, and we are set. If anyone asks, Teretonga is wallpapering his house... Linc - i mean Sunny Wagon.
