You can find information in the wiki about ratios

ok mate i might browse that site for a little while

is it at all possible to change only the synchronisers
at this stage im not to keen on rebuilding the whole gearbox

just took it for another spin
and it seems as i can get into second when im doing a certain speed
but any faster and i have to double declutch/ shuffle

after doing some research on synchros its starting to make some sense

thanks for your reply
Jason

hi guys i was just hoping to gather some information about synchros on 60 seires gearbox's

My 2nd gear is a bit crunchy on the downshift, my mechanic said its the synchros and for now i can double declutch to get into second

This isnt very traffic friendly as sometimes its a bit slow

I was just wondering what it takes to replace synchros either if i do it myself,, or how much i should pay someone to do it , and how available synchros are for these gearbox,

Please remember i have never even thought about synchros and i have really no idea what they look like

i have been helped out very much with this whole manual thing up to now and am very thankful

Hopefuly this will be the last
Thanks alot
Jason

hi mate

for nsw the restrictions are

no v8
no forced induction
no sports performance mods , this includes engine transplants, and im pretty sure it would include bigger carbs ect, has any members had any trouble while running bigger carbs on there p's?

my brother was pulled up a few times while on his p's in his v6 comonwhore and it had extractors he never had any trouble

there are some stock production cars that are added into the list
but been on a datsun website and your first car you dont have to worry about porsche 911 etc
goodluck buying!
