That sounds odd. All my utes, albeit stock ones, are really easy to steer. Especially when its rolling. Maybe get your steering checked out at a steering place.

Does anyone know a good website where I can type nissan part numbers and it show what they are? Have a few NOS nissan parts and don't know what there from.

my old utes ignition use to open with a nail file. Probably because it was so worn. There are aftermarket ones on ebay at the moment.

Canberra also doesn't have the annual checks. They justify it by doing 'random' inspections. I must be living in the wrong area as I have only seen 3 random inspections in the 5 years of living here.

Engine out would be easiest but still a lot of work just to get a gearbox in. Give greendogs advice a go. In the past I've undone the engine mounts a little but not totally out, and jacked up the front of the engine a little and it slid right in.
