All the reading material that I've managed to get hold of suggest that long runners is what I need.
Just wanted to hear from someone with actual experience what their thought are.

Regarding the change:
I'm using a E30 rear suspension with a 4.46 LSD. I can go to a lower diff ratio ie. 2.93 to get a long 1st gear.
But with the 4.46 using 2nd, I would still have the option of changing down to 1st in the really tight stuff, something that you can't do with a really long 1st.

Locally in RSA I haven't been able to source a diff with a higher ratio than the 4.46 yet.

Has anyone tried running throttles on the A14 on long runners?
What effect did it have on the power and torque curves in comparison to stock?

I'm looking for as much low down torque as possible to suite the usage of the car.
Doing gymkhana (autocross) with my A14 equipped 1200 sedan.
Speeds are low and only use 1st gear, but 1st is getting too short with the improved traction. So want to run 2nd gear. Obviously then we'll mostly be using the lower rev range 2000rpm up.

Got this picture from the photo album.

@lamb_daiquiri - How did it turn out?

edit: I'll try to mount the injectors as close as possible to the head, again to aid low down torque and response.

I'm using a Perfect Power XMS4 on my A14, running only wasted spark ignition at the moment.

Will be running sequential fired injectors once I'm finished with the throttle setup.

its like the 15yo rally tyres i used to run.... they never wore out.....like ever, now i buy new ones they last 5 or 6 races

True story that!
My old set of 5year old slicks never even showed any signs of wear in the year I used them. Replaced them because I suspected the grid levels they gave me, now I'm going through 3 sets a year!

I'm interested to see what cr could be used.
Had A14 balanced at the beginning of the year and at he sametime bored it out to 60thou over. The engineering company checked the cr and wasn't feeling comfortable with running more than 10.8 static cr.
We ran the motor with 10.8 static on a 268 cam, bit even with the 280 we put in then they would not raise the cr. They actually had to lower it to het to 10.8.
The motor never pulled the way I expected, but is way more lively.
So the other day I decided to have the timing set on the dyno.
And to my suprice it's actually making maginally less than previously. Which made me think that the cr is way too low for the setup I've got.
Thinking of taking the motor apart again after the season closed to raise the cr proper.

Ek is seker "old school" of het net eenvoudig al groot geword, maar daai bumper/scoop bedryf wat "hattinid" op daardie GX Coupe loop aan plak het pas nou glad nie by n "old school" kar nie.

Thanx DD.

I was hoping for some accurate dimensions of those mounting points
