could be the anti dieseling solenoid in the side of carb as shown in picture. i had an issue with it wanting to stall randomly and traced it down to that.

did you modify the weights on the dizzy to reduce advance and total timing? this has stopped pinging altogether. also i have changed accel pump jets and idle circuit in the carb as it was to lean straight of idle. using acl copper head gasket aswell..

it did yeah. tis a reasonably new meth setup though. i might hook that up once i get timing sorted. i have NOS fogger setup here already off the charger i have so might fiddle with that.

its probably your old one passed down the datto commun, running @ 18psi. have installed decomp plate. have retarded the timing a heap for the moment so only running maximum of 20 deg at 6000rpm. really needs to be about 12 deg to really avoid any sort of pre detonation.. also am getting another crank pulley made which should bring boost down to 7-10psi so i can run NOS.. but for the moment using 98ron + ocatane booster is getting it by.

All fitted and first drive went well.. just need to modify weights in dizzy to reduce total timing and should rev all the way to 7000 rpm without pinging..
