Sounds awesome. Keep us in the loop, I'm keen!
I must admit the efi version looked like the goods but I hate electrics and they hate me. Nothing wrong with a carby! What sort of timeframe do I have to get this past the handbrake?

Its not illegal to weld chassis, we get chassis extensions and wheel base mods done regularly and they are not riveted. Weld at a 45 deg angle with a reinforcing section inside going through the welded section.
This is part of the heavy vehicle modification regs. I am not sure about light vehicle regs, but if we can weld a truck chassis which will be rated to 23 tonne GVM I doubt they would have any issues with a welded chassis on a car.
I do remember years ago a guy repairing a crashed falcon told the department he had used a new bodyshell and they wouldnt approve the repair, so he went back and told a different guy he had replaced the front chassis rails and a full long rear cut and they approved it. Problem was, it's illegal to remove a body plate and affix it to another vehicle, which is what he technically did for the body shell, so he told them it was 3 cars made into 1 and that was fine. Red tape technical bullshit.

Take the starter motor out and use a lever or something simular to lock the flywheel using the teeth on the ring gear. You may need assistance.

I always used permatex non hardening sealant on paper gaskets, I believe it's a locktite product now, aviation non hardening sealant. Handy especially on water galleries etc where there is a chance of previous leakage and therefore pitting. This stuff stays tacky. I also use Stag on welch plugs too.
Ideally you should not have to use anything, however on old bits I usually do. Beats using half a tube of ultra blue on everything.

OK all, I'm interested!
I have an idea based on all this. I have a manifold like the picture, and have fabricated a 'Plenum' out of steel which bolts on in place of the weber. If I bolt a throttle body onto that, and put 2 injectors into the manifold pointing at the head (as a side note I just found you can get screw in or weld in injector bosses online in steel or alloy. Who knew!). I guess I could do 4 but I am trying to keep this a little basic. Turbo manifold bolted on, plumbed to throttle body, 2 injectors and what I think would be a better than standard manifold we should be good.
Now, is it possible to run a standard electronic distributor if the injectors are just firing a pulse? Would it be able to trigger off the standard dizzy or does it need no 1?
I was in the process of buying a 1500 to do a bit of work to, but after following this I think the 1200 is staying, with a little help from forced induction.
Thoughts?

So I guess the original build thread is a bit out of date now. As you seem to be not doing this to sell a kit, can we assume that the final product will end up as a DIY build thread and everyone will be driving 120kw a12 turbos?
Any chance of you producing a manifold at least? Out of the whole build, this is probably the most difficult part.
A step by step thread on the final product (as per the original thread) would be very useful.
Thanks for the effort, I am sure everyone appreciates your time and effort here as much as I do.
