Ange,
Thanks for the reply. I understand you can cut the coils down a little to fit on the Stanza springs. I think Stanza disks are 8.5" but the 200b are slightly larger at 9.5" and will bolt straight on with no mods. Am not sure on the 120Y Castor Rods, can anybody else out there help?
cheers,
Darren

Just how easy is it to fit the Honda Prelude seats into the dato 1200 ute, what are the mods required? Are they comfy?

Guys,
I am researching all of the information regarding the Stanza strut swap as I am looking at going to an A15 next year for my 1971 (B120) ute. I have looked at various sites and there is a lot of info and options, but I would like all comments on the following set up keeping in mind that I will not be racing this thing:
Suspension
1) Replace Sway Bar with 120Y (20mm) Sway Bar with nolethane bushes
2) Replace Sway Bar / Lower Control Arm link with Stanza connection
Brakes
1) Replace struts with Imported Stanza Struts (1980 onwards)
2) Fit 200B disks with 200B Girlock Calipers
3) Fit New Ball joints
4) Fit Dual Master Brake Cylinder from 1200 Coupe or 180B or 200B 5) Fit Stanza Lower Control Arms and Steering Arms
6) Fit 120Y Castor Rods
Is this everything? I am running 13" rims. I take it that the remaining 1200 steering components (Pitman Arm, Idler Arm, Inner and Outer Tie Rods and the Track Rod) will not require any mods and will hook up with the above components?? Are there any tricks here?? I have also read somewhere that Stanza SSS struts are stiffer??? Over to you..
Regards,
Darren Adelaide

Guys,
I fitted seats into my 1200 ute from an early model ford lazer. Only had to drill some new holes and everything bolted straight in no worries at all. Only problem with these seats is that they take up far more room and they don't support your underside of your legs to well. No good for long distance or if you are a basketball player!!

The time has come to rip out the crap stock standard seat belts out of my 1200 ute and replace with some inertia reel belts. Does anybody know what type/model etc, will fit and who the suppliers are? Are there any engineering certificates / requirements when you fiddle with this.

In Adelaide Grand Auto Wreckers at Lonsdale would be your best bet, phone 08 8382 6066. Otherwise try Central Victorian Auto Wreckers in Bendigo, Victoria. Not sure of the phone number but I got panels for my ute several years ago from there. he may still have some in stock.

I am currently restoring a 1971 dato ute. Does anybody out there have any ideas as to what type of seats can be easily installed which give more leg room. I currently have seats from an old Ford Laser but these are to big and become uncomfortable when hooning around. Has anyone tried fitting Recaro racing seats??
cheers,
Daz
