My last datsun was a 1200 ute with rust from wheel to wheel in the sills an checker plate to cover it. a previous owen was amazed it was still going he had rolled it blowen 4th gear an sized the engine he recons it sat on 150km/h from newcastle to scone (2hrs). But some one since then had bogged the roof so it looked quite normal an replaced the engine an gear box. the diff had a pretty sick noise in it to.
any way it would still hold 140km/h for me an it lasted me 2 years(temp gauge worked only in the last 6 months) of constant abuse i estermate it did around 15,000 km when i had it cos the speedo was inaccurate.
i had 2 minor traffic accidents in it the last bent a tie rod or some thing so you had to drive while turning the wheel abit. it also boiled a few time i think
one particular time i was having a bit of a bash round the bush an went down a 4m long dip with water in it. ripping through i found out it was a little deeper than i thought in fact when it finally got bogged the water started coming in the doors when i returned with a mates HQ to pull it out the water was touching the bottom of the seats i drove the car for a year after that. DATSUN ARE STRONG. well that one was. its now in sydney still going strong i guess

nope they dynoed this 4 sure. So does any have a guess how much boost a a12 can take with after market pistions( lowering compresion to around 8) an the same treatment to the rods an crank can take? a12's are cheap. don't matter if i kill a few

boost is 1.24bar sorry. i am not up with cost but it seems easy enough the only work to the block is aftermarket rings and pistons so compersission is now 7.43, custom camshaft o- ringed after market pushrods an then shotpeened crank an rods the head flowed pretty well an then they slapped a hks turbo on it. is it expensive?

Just while we are on 3rd party green slip the only company in aussie that covers the driver for injury is NRMA. i found out the hard way cos i would be sitting on $250,000 now if i had a green slip with them. just a word of warning
