Hi Guys, a lovely guy on here sent me an exhaust manifold with flap that turns freely by hand and looks like it'll be perfect! just wondering what size thread are studs go in the base of the manifold to join it to the exhaust down pipe as the manifold didn't have any studs in that base bit!
can you buy the studs new? or should i just use bolts of the same thread size from bunnings? Cheers, Tom

Hi I'm looking for the stock a12 exhaust manifold with heat flap in bolt on condition..
apparently the flap should turn freely by hand and I was sent one that is seized and missing some bits between the heat activated spring and the body..
Cheers, Tom

Thanks so much for the reply and the tech wiki article! the only question i have left about it is what should i do about the random washers I have between the coil and the manifold body.. i.e the non weight side..
and is there supposed to be a little spring between the body and the coil thing?
are you supposed to be able to turn the flap by hand? because i most certainly can't! Cheers, Tom

Hi I got sent a second hand exhaust manifold.. it is the flap type with the spring..
next to the spring are 2 washers that are moving freely and I was wondering what does the little bent bit at the end of the spring hook up to? I can't really see how it would work? any info/pics would be most most appreciated!
Thanks, Tom
