that is sorta an issue not many ppl are keen to do it the best bet is a mate, my mate did his but instead of cutting that bit out of the donor tank he had a 5mm steel cut into the correct size ring and tapped holes in that for extra meat, ive seen ppl just tap into the tank if the tanks thick anough it will work and theres no welding- this guy did it like that- http://www.ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=15284&start=15 who was the other engineer? i spoke to doug potts and he seamed ok, rory wouldnt tell me anything unless i payed $300

or you could use a 500hp walbro intank pump with an r31 cradle you will get away with it for about $180, and it wont look like a dogs breakfast like the above pic plus it will be quit. i run the 500hp walbro in my xr6 it makes 317rwkw with a but load of torque never had an issue. plus(dont qoute me on this) if your car doesnt have a factory fitted fuel tank in the boot it is very dificult to get it legal with a surge and pumps in your boot, they need to be in some kind of sealed inclosure thats what the regency bloke told me. but honestly i think your mad running all that gear when you can do it ALOT neater, quiter, cheaper and get the same results, my mate has done a few track days in his 300+ kw xr6 with no surgeing issues, aslong as you fit some type of swirl pot in the tank you cant go wrong, have a suss of the link i posted, heaps of ppl are going away from the surge tank/2 pumps and doing it intank. my mate uses the s13 pump and cradle in his sr20/bluebird works fine too

id try use an intank pump, much neater and quiter also works out much cheaper as you only need the 1 pump heres a diy http://www.ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7070 as for the pipe its upto the engineer but id use solid bundy line if i was you looks much neater and is a bit more protected, yes you can use the original feed as the return and then fit a new 3/8 line for the feed, thats how i did mine. did you try industrial springs? what rate are you after? and whos engineering ur car?

couldnt you just run an efi intan pump in the original fuel tank like they do in 1600's, imo drop tanks look good in slr5000's but thats about it

mate best way is to speak to an engineer in your state they will tell you whats needed, ur better off doing that than going by what people think is legal, as for conversion parts see scott and tam @ www.maddat.com.au
