I have thought about it, If I do I will have to be extra nice to my bro, as He will be the one making the site. for now I will try to get some more information about 1000's together to make it worth visiting. I was thinking of opening up a page for 1000 owners to post pics of their 1K and write a little something to go with their pics.

I bought a model identification catalogue on ebay last week and wanted to share it with the datsun community, but didn't think it was much use as a pdf. So my little bro and I have spent a combined 50-60 mind numbing hours of html coding and data entry to create a searchable database. Enjoy... http://datsun1000.com/Models.asp

When I get it sorted I will be happy to make up some more sets for whoever wants them, I will just be after material costs, if there are only a few sets to make. If I need to make alot then I will add time. and any postage costs if pick up is not an option. Everybody I have dealt with in the datsun community has been very helpfull. It seems fair to do the same in return. Don't hold your breath waiting for these as they will be a while before they are done. I still have many many hours to go on this project.

Ok, The paper work that I was given had info for the transport guy, The SCBA and gas suit is in case the product is on fire. That is by no means clear on the paper work I was given, The MSDS explains it in a clear manner.
I searched the manufacturers web site and found the actual MSDS. Now im not too scared to use it. I was wondering how I could buy such crazy stuff with no questions asked. Turns out im just a dick head. I still need to be carefull and use nitrile rubber gloves and chemichal glasses, ect. Looks like im back in buisness. Ohhh Yeah!

I know, either they are being extremley cautious or it is nasty stuff, either way I am not going to risk it. If it is as bad as the msds says, it suprises me that I can just buy it. The sheet says the vapours sink in air and are explosive.
If the urethane idea turns out to be a dud, the parts will have to be made from silicone, and I will have to find a suitable material to brace it with.

Cheers, I have kina of ruled out uncured rubber for now becuase of the need to vulcanise it. Im not sure what heat will do to the wooden block on my jig. Just the heat gun through a rubber sheet cracked the car filler when the wood heated up. I need to use my block for a left and right because I flip the top plate and bars to swap between sides. I have a mate that gets urethanes poured regularly, I may have a chat with him when I get my moulds finished.
Where I am at now... The release agent for the urethane I bought is what concerns me, it says a structural firefighters uniform is NOT effective for this material, It requires a SCBA and fully encapsulated gas tight suit. It is hazchem 3[Y]E. IM better off getting a profesional to use it, as I don't want to spend big money on a suit. Just the mask is nearly 2 grand.
Thank you for the info, I do appreciate you going to the effort by replying to this thresd for me. Cheers, Ashley.

Thank you shifty, I will consider it if what I am trying fails, but I am pretty far down this road now...
I am about to place my order for some elastomer tomorrow, I have been sending alot of emails and making alot of calls trying to find what product best suits me,
The idea so far is to use the Eratwowel MT80A mixed with some black pigment, for one side, and to use some high temp silicone mixed with black pigment on the exaust side, pack it with some fibreglass to stop heat transfer and back it with Eratrowel MT80A to keep it from deforming, as the Eratwowel has a much higher duro than the silicone.
I want to use high temp silicone on the exaust side as the Eratrowel is only good for around 90deg c.
I went to a company near work that makes bags from silicone and uses a weave in the centre for strength before work today. From what I saw this morning silicone will do the job and look right. I just have to see if the pigment I am ordering for the Eratrowel will work with the high temp silicone the guys near work are using.

Looks like Datzon has solved this one for us. His thread with reconditioned track rod.Thank you Datzon. I sent Mad Dat an email asking if they can reco my track rod, they replyed with... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Ashley The price to recondition it depends on what condition it’s in. Usually it’s $70. If you post it to us we can confirm that on arrival. Don’t be in a hurry to post it, we are on hollies for two weeks. It will arrive safely, but we can’t work on it for a few days. Post to: Lot 3 Cemetery Road, Scott Creek SA 5153 and include your details. Cheers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
