your best bet is a CA18det is the best powered engineered engine you can throw in it, i was gonna go that way my self but $$$ is too much and i wanted to drive one asap so thats why i went J port 13b, supra w58, 9 inch diff, 300mm brakes all round, 48mm ida webber.... might seem like i spend heaps but not if you know what your doing, my engine bay has no wiring anywhere as its basic i did my self as its carbi, and im expected well over 250hp

turbo to come soon. but then again its not legal as i use mainly to run at the drags.... but then again..

i would go the rotor, only cause when i had my CA it was a ongoing money pit, yeah i know rotories dont have good reputations but i think people who say that never drove one.. i have been around rotories for a while and the reason i went for a rotor instead of CA is i dont want full power or the quickest car on the street i wanted a cruiser for weekends that sounded like sex on wheels and i can tell you chicks love it and if the day comes i want power i can assure you no CA will ever catch a decent 13b, you tell me who has ever seen a CA with over 1000hp? ive seen rotories at that figure.... and i know a 20B rotor would fit in a datsun and put out over 500kw on standard n/a..

but its what you want to do with it...

you have 2 options...
1. you can go to a perfromance shop that dose conversions and will make you one to fit to what you have and measure every aspect and get a good very thick xmember, but you know its done to suit everything you need..

2. buy a maddat kit and hope your chassis is not twisted and everything is on the money, worse case you gotta start spending $$ to aline everything.

you chose i did not bother with a maddat kit for my 13b rotary as my mechaic said he can make better and work around what i needed done ie: lower the engine more/raise more, supra gearbox xmember mounts, tailsharft measurements and i got a good deal for a quailfied performance shop to measure and line up everything from raidiator, engine, gearbox, tailsharft, everything in the drive train for $2500

oh and a very large gearbox tunnel welded to the floor.

now i just need very basic wiring as my car in not injected but carbureted...

so basicly is it worth the hassel and stress and bleeding knuckles when there are ppl out there who can do it for a lil bit of $$, but done 100%

your gonna be in all sorts if you dont get a larger tunnel. unless its a automatica tunnel then it might be okay, but why would you bother spending all this money on this conversion when your not even gonna do it properly by cutting the tunnel? do it once do it right and dont be a tightass...
