Are there any known issues with the stock motor? i.e. turbo, blow off valve, injectors etc. Also, what brand and viscosity of engine oil are you using? Thanks Matty
Just curious as to what sort of power cranks, rods, pistons etc start going bang on stock A14's and A15's.
For any of you who have built a hot atmo motor or even a motor with forced induction did you use stock internals or did you go to forged pistons, strengthened rods etc? Thanks Matty
Hi Kegs It's funny how people think darker clours make the interior hotter. RACQ did a test on that theory several years ago and found that the exterior colour doesn't affect the interior's temperature. I've owned cars in just about every colour and you're absolutely right black is a pain in the butt to keep clean. Another colour that might look good is a deep red. I haven't seen too many older cars in that sort of colour. I know white isn't that interesting but if there is any panel damage it will be easier to match and maintain. There is nothing worse than seeing a dark coloured car out in the sunlight with swirl marks all over it. Regards Matty
Hi Peddler Black always looks good on cars but the panels need to be perfect before it's applied or you won't do it justice. I have seen a couple of silver 1200s and they looked really good. But if it's going to be a race car you will invariably cop some panel damage so white is probably the best option. I know it's a bit boring but light colours are easier to maintain. Matty
