Aaah, thanks KJ. I knew I had read something like that somewhere. All I could find this time around was ammendments.
Will have to contact them for the Cat ! listing.

have searched here and the DTEI site to no avail.
Trying to determine wether a14/15s in 1200 is legal in SA. Or do even they need to be engineered.
Hoping it is just a paperwork swap, not keen on going the whole hog/engineering again.

Well, thought i would finally get some pics and details up of my beast.
Not so much a project as a daily banger/runabout.
Long story short, I had always wanted one of these since before I got my license. Ended up getting distracted by a few Escorts (the Ford variety) and then a long line of BMW E30s and 2002s.
Got tired of loading up my wagon with gear in the back, and realised having a ute would make more sense. The 1200 killed 2 birds with one stone. I missed having a toy car after selling all my E30s and a 1602. So the ute doubles as fun/project and work hack.
Anyway onto the good bits. So far.
Stanza front end with ex-e30 coilover hardware (same 51mm strut diameter). Cheers to Scott at Mad Dat for the work. Brakes sorted by Mark at Mobile Brake Repairs. Top bloke and great job. Ended up with an unboosted 13/16 m/c 1.75in exhaust cos I was sick of the flutter from an old leak. SSR MKIIs, 13x7 et10 in front and 13x8 et0 in the back
And thats pretty much it, other than a few small details. Plus a bit of a body tidy up to come. (it cam with extra panels etc)
Plans? nothing major, probly an a14/15 swap down the line. Have always been tempted by twin webbers, but never been down that road. Although Kristian (srb210) seems destined to convince me to sr20 it. We will see.
And a few pics, that are less incriminating than the Brokeback Mountain thread.
Cheers,
Jake

Oh dear ... named and shamed!!!! haha. And yes, it did feel like a test run for the xmas pageant as i tackled peak hour the other morning. Lots of laughs and a few thumbs up from kiddies.
Its almost a physical reference to the amount of power the a12 is putting out.

got mine from North Terrace Tyres. 175s should be fine for the 7.5s. I got 175s on the 7s with minimal stretch. Had some trouble getting the 175s on the 8s, so went with a 185/60 on those, still with a slight stretch.
will try and get some flics this weekend.
