I don't think I would ever use DOT 5. If I'm correct, thats for old school domestics. Don't quote me on that, I'd have to check on a bottle at work tomorrow.

I'd use a DOT 4 fluid. Same as DOT 3, but with a higher boiling point.

Got it! I must not be able to produce enough vacuum by myself to be able to tell theres a leak.

Timed it some more and the thing really hauls now! I'm extremely happy with it.

Well, thats a good question. I actually have two ports on the dizzy. not sure how common that is on models sold outside of the USA, but further research shows one is a cold advance, and warm advance.

The one I'd use would surely be the warm advance which doesn't leak under vaccum.

I've had the dizzy apart before, and cleaned every inch of it. Everything operates as it should... runs perfect without the advance hooked up..

So I've been tinkering with it, because it doesn't seem to have much power past 4K, and I readjusted the timing, and spent an hour setting it by a single degree at a time to find the motors sweet spot, and the thing really roars all the way up to 6K now! There's a lot more midrange power out of the old girl.

I played with the vac advance a little bit, trying to hook it up, and strangely, it seems as if under low load the engine misfires horrible around 2-3K, but if I gun the throttle it will rev like an indy car... weird. Video coming.

I'll go kick her ass and post a video then. Interesting if I see any valve float around 6K.

Maybe I'll go air her out and get a video of it cruising just to give you guys an idea. I don't take it above 5500. Is a 200K mile A15 safe to take up to 7K?

lately it's really been bugging me about how slow my B310 is. I'm kind of wondering if I have another problem costing me power, or is my car if really as slow as it feels. It seems like all the work I've put into the drivetrain it should give me more then a 20+ second 0-60

It's a 5 speed 60 series A15.

Mods: Weber 32/36 DGV
Slightly ported/rebuilt stock head
%100 emissions delete
MSD IGN box + Blaster 3 coil
Fresh Dizzy cap/rotor
Accel 8mm wires
NGK 7082 Platinum plugs w/ .50 gap
Straight 2'' exhaust.
Timing 13 degrees BTDC w/ no vac advance. Only centripetal

It's super lightweight with no A/C (Now belongs to EDP!) no rear seats, gutted dash/ interior. Basically, if it can be removed, I've done it.

A few pics as reference.

Here's a video of me attempting to speed off. I ran it all the way on the floor to about 4K up to about 40MPH.

I even thought about taking it to the local shop to have it dyno'd so I can see what the actual numbers are for this thing.

It's my DD, so I need it done ASAP! My A15 is on its last leg. Low compression, drinking oil, etc. I still drive the hell out of it. LOL

Does the L16 mount any better into the B310 then the L20B?

SO after trolling around junkyards locally I wasn't able to find hardly ANY parts, let alone an A10. I suppose I may have to do some fab work for engine/tranny mounts and such.

You wouldn't happen to have side by side pictures of the crossmembers between A10 and B310 would you?
