I ask because I have a 2.4 litre L20B with reasonable work done to the head and I only want to try one out if i can get it cheap enough as i believe i have the torque to cope with it. Have you run it with a different ratio? 3.9 can be found pretty cheap and is really close, i have bought a couple for $50 in the past. I tried a 4.1 and when only moving 0.2 in ratio it wasn't that noticeable.

Is this a race car?

Thanks for all the info, looks like im going to have to get off my ass and do some measuring. I will try and do it over the weekend and ill let you know what i come up with.

I'm surprised this isnt a more common issue as i didnt think my car was that low.

I haven't removed the whole bump stop but from memory i cut 25-30 off. When i got it it was low enough that when the bump stop was complete the car would have 10mm of travel between the car and the stop with no one in the car, i haven't changed the ride height. I cut the stop and the shock bottomed out, replaced them with some hilux shocks unfamilia gave me and they are so short it makes the droop very limited. It is limited to the point that if you hit a big enough bump it will pick up the rear wheels slightly.

Really i'm just being lazy and hoping that someone has fitted a short shock that works rather than getting out and doing some measuring.

I have 35-40mm of travel between the bump stop and the body, How much travel do you need to have effective rear suspension?

I need to get a set of rear shocks for my coupe and am not sure what to get, the shocks that came in it were a standard part I believe and were bottoming out. The shocks I have now are out of a hilux and are really a bit short as you have to load the suspension to install them and the have also failed. Is there a particular shock that commonly used for a lowered coupe?

I have search the net but only seem to come up with standard length replacements.

Don't use the Holley blue pump, I have one in my car and I am eventually going to remove it.(hopefully sooner than later). The Holley blue pumps are designed to run at 7-14 psi and don't like running lower and will shorten the life of the pump. My regulator will maintain 4.5-5 psi when running but the huge pressure produced at idle can create issues of over fuelling and when the engine is off I have installed a relay that only operates when the engine is running as the pump pushed fuel past the needle valves to the float bowls. These pumps are designed for worked v8's and are way to big for my application and I have twin 45dcoe on a 2.4l. The pump is also extremely noisey, admittedly I don't have the correct rubber isolators at the moment but they have a reputation for it, they also have a reputation for failing when restricting flow.

if I still have it I will put a link up for a short video of my car at heathcote drags. There is a droning noise that is clearly heard through out the video until I launch, that's the pump!

I ran e85 through twin 45 weber on the dyno but the gains from just running the e85 without having an engine built to run it effectively were not worth the effort. I replaced my old lines with new modern fuel hose but i would have to check what type, i have been told since then that a majority of modern fuel line will handle e85 internally as the linings suit it but it can eat away at the outside. if you have an in tank pump and require hose that goes inside the tank there is a specific type of hose you will need.

Weber performance have told me that there is only one type of gasket kit for webers and they have not had any reported problems with running e85 or alcohol. Its just a matter of replacing your jets with much larger ones, mine went from 145 main fuel to over 200.

What are you doing to the engine? If your running it through webers i'm guessing no turbo, are you increasing the compression?

I am located in Mitcham, how's $10.
I have one heater hose that will do the job but it's been squashed at some point so doesn't look real good. You can that.

Give me a call or a txt, o4o7876844.
I should be around tomorrow if your not far away.
