The r100 is a very nice looking car, I can understand how unmolested one's make good money, but as Mildman says, I wouldn't count on getting too much of a return down the track, depends on a lot of things, but there's no way I would pay 5 figures for any stock Datsun, I'm too poor for a start, but just on principle. The reason I like them is they're light, practical and unassuming. Z's are way too ugly for that money. I know a guy that picked up a decent driving 240z for $500 not long ago.

I hope some of these guys get serious about selling there cars so I can get one already. I'm patient enough to not throw my money away.

I've been looking for a decent 1200 ute for ages.

I don't hardly bother looking at carsales, there's plenty of utes on there, but maybe one or two that aren't out of my reasonable budget, and they're usually at least $2000 more than what I would consider a fair price, some are just plain crazy though.

The one's which have had a lot of specialty work done, and carefully built, some are modestly priced, but minimum 5 grand for a stock 1200 in crap condition? 10 grand for one that's been resprayed? Who's paying this money to drive these prices?

For interests sake, how much power does a real hot A12 make?

Does it come with the baseball bat?
