Even easier as the B310 crossmember suits the RWD 4AGE sump better than a B110, Only 1.6 Litres maybe DD but I have seen one in New Zealand still at 1.6 Litres that had over 220 HP in Group A legal trim and that would make a H150 last about 50 feet.

The AE 70 Corolla these were stock in had a Differential and axles much the same as a 1200 Ute size wise and with a Sunny B310 a Japanese Stanza PA 10 complete rear axle assembly is noy too hard to bolt in just a little bit wider but the four link setup fits up OK.

Speaking of the Four Link setup the stock subbers were rubbish soft even when new replace them and feel the difference just do not go too hard and then complain you ripped the mounts off the body for the links.

Datsun 240 K model C210 will fit they are big stub axle 3.5" spacing for the caliper mounts and a thicker (10mm) disk compared to your 8mm thick disk that is about an inch smaller.

They will accept Sumitomo four piston brakes from the front of an early Toyota hilux that ran solid disks, there are a few disks that can be adapted to these struts such as later Golf, Mistubishi Magna, Verada , Nissan 280zx and from memory some honda prelude models witha bit of mucking about.

If you run 20mm thick vented disks at 260mm diameter they will fit inside 13 inch mag wheels also.
the later Skyline models with the 2.4 L series engines ran a 270mm disk and the caliper mounts were located further out for the bigger diameter and will not be useable with anything less than 14 inch wheels.

These struts stopped many a big power datsun 1600 rally car in Australia with a couple of hundred horsepower 2.4 litre L series engines with the right brakes adapted to them the stub section of the early 240 K was exactly the same dimensionally as the works Stanza, 160J Violet HA10 models except the works cars used nice spun cast 260mmx20mm disks and Sumitomo 4 Spots borrowed from the Nissan President Limo's.

Maybe when one considers getting a base gearbox overhauling it and then modifying it and finding a Nismo gearset etc ect this would end up being a better option.http://www.saenztransmissioneurope.com/data.html
Saenz Transmissions are pretty good and cost effective because unlike the linked page which is the sales and service outlet the Transmissions can be more cost effective because they are made in Argentina, Argentina is not a backward place when it comes to some not well known but surprisingly good quality KIt one of their say TT3 series transmissions just may end up a cost effective option.

How many $20.00 trophies for $10k dollars, Or up the ante and buy $150.00 tropies instead and really look the part Duh!!

Frankenmotor really I think this thread started about this is free how cheap and effective will it be to use, In that case one also has to consider the sale value of a getting harder to find Datsun 5 speed and A series OE Engine that may or may not be a stocker and hence cannot be valued with no information.

Potentially doing the work yourself the Mazda conversion may break even or make a small return with the sale of parts no longer wanted, After all MX5 gearboxes are like grass seeds they are common wheras the A series 5 speed is becoming harder to find and more valuable.

Actually the Australian VB310 Sunny Panel van was leaf spring as elsewhere and solid sides no windows at all and like all Sunny B310 models in Australia full imports, they were all also just a cooking A12.

Mine went through A14 GX then L20B which even in SSS spec went no better than the A14 GX engine both ran the appropriate 5 speed so ratios were similar between the overdrive type 60 and the overdrive type 63 boxes, However man did it stop when I dropped in a spare set of Works Stanza struts works vented disks and four spots strangely enough brake balance with stock rear drums worked out perfectly with that setup.

Wish I still had it as they were rare back then let alone now, Six years ago when I was working in Bowral in the Southern Highlands one of my Customers had a Sunny van and his checking found just one other registered in NSW at the time.

Not surprised as most cars of that era did not have Gas pressurised strut inserts, Seems everyone forgets that Gas pressure struts do act as very effective helper springs and that will be most of your problem.

Some are worse than others, I remember when one of my Works Stanza Rally struts lost gas pressure the front of the car on that side went down by about six inches as the gas pressure was so high in them.

But I have seen Datsun 1600's fitted with the old Tokiko Gold inserts pop up a couple inches in ride height after they were fitted needing different springs just to bring them back to stock height and that was with the drivtrain in place.

So in reality ddzongal is right on the money and the above explanation is why.

They are annoying that's for sure maybe the Automated signup needs to be approved before it happens to sort this out, Like maybe ask some 1200 related questions to see if they actually know what one is and if they fail the test no play here.

Well finish that sucker and now many years later no doubt you can redo some things better with more knowledge,I note in post 6 the clutch setup, many years ago like back in 1990 I built a 1200 coupe with a Z18 turbo and in that one decided to use a formula Ford clutch master cylinder mounted on top of the Steering column support and the original cable hook on the standard clutch pedal lines up perfectly to operate the master cylinder which faced backwards.
Having built a BDG escort back in the mid eighties I borrowed from that experience and used an RS1800 spec remote reservior on the firewall to supply the Clutch master.

Such a change will mean the clutch master cylinder is no longer in the way of the inlet manifold, See with our help and encouragement it will live and become better than you could have ever imagined back in the day.

In many ways older cars are getting easier to source some repair parts than they were ten or twenty years ago and with more life experience you can and will do a even more awesome job of making an absolute rock star build of this great coupe and when all said and done they just don't make em like that anymore, Nothing Modern looks as good as a 1200 coupe.

500 HP, your Dreamin maybe around 300 would be achievable or over 220 but useable on the road for sure but 500 forget it that would just be a hand grenade with the pin removed beyond 350HP.

Keeping it Nissan datsun research the Nissan March SuperTurbo which came ex factory with both a blower and a turbo but only a three cylinder 1 litre twincam 12 valve engine.http://jalopnik.com/is-this-twincharg ... tten-homologat-1653317711

Master Cylinder seals are toast one from wear and tear the second one likely corrosion from sitting around unused for a while are the only causes of such behaviour.

New Master cylinder or a very close inspection for corrosion and a new seal kit, I would do all the seals at the same time rear brakes as well and make sure the caliper pistons move freely and if not strip and clean and or replace front barke seals as well .

Generally though front calipers do not leak just seize up which means firm pedal and no brakes. so loss of pedal is related to both Rear Brake cylinders and or master cylinder.
