just wanted to know if any of you out there have any idea of what prices are like for importing a car from south africa im going on holiday there soon to see the fam and coz im gonna save so much on food and accomodation coz my aunty will kill me if she found out i was paying for that so im thinking of picking something up coz our dollar is so strong so was doing some reseacrh and you can pick up a complete sss 510 with full s15 conversion pushing about 300kw for about R35,000 to R40,000 wich is about 5-6k australian pretty freakin sweet huh?

So if any of you know anything or know who i should ask please holler back.

Does anyone know of any good cheap brake specialist in sydney? Need to upgrade the brakes on my ute coz I'm goin to turbo or supercharge the 1400 that's in it and don't think the drum brake will like that very much.

Ok guys I’ve gone and bought all this stuff to restore this car but just have no time what so ever to finish it off so pretty much none of it is installed. Extremely sad to see it go but rather put it in someone’s hands that has the time to enjoy it as these cars a hella fun to muck around on and get it looking and running shmick

1978 beige Datsun 1200 4 speed manual ute (all original) rego till 2nd of March 2011. the body is pretty straight apart from one or two dings here and there and minimal rust in the usual places and dash is fairly cracked but you’d expect that from a 33 year old car. I also have brand new panels all round including bonnet, doors, tailgate, front guards, rear ¼’s, front apron, rear beaver panel, taillight surroundings and rocker panels. Your pretty much getting two cars for the price of one. I also got a Maddat fibreglass tray cover with the datsun emblem embossed on it with a fitting kit that has locks, gas struts and quick lift-off hinging mechanism (this alone was $1500) or if you want to keep it classic there’s the rollbar and the tonneau cover. The A12 is dead but could suit a rebuild everything else in the engine bay is fine and the 4 speed gearbox is smooth with a new clutch that would bolt straight onto the A15 that’s sitting in the tray that I never got around to installing it was running when removed from a donor carcass and had about 160,000 k’s on it (bought it last November and still tied to the pallet). Its got a brand new remote brake booster and lines installed that cost me a grand I’ve also got a complete rubber kit for the whole car its got the original steering wheel but ill through in a boss kit to suit a aftermarket wheel. Also there’s a front sway bar, maddat steering box brace and a maddat A-series short shifter, brand new black vinyl headlining, brand new black moulded carpet, 2 inch lowering blocks, crystal altezza style tail lights and a set of TRX wheels with datsun center caps with more than 80% tread from what I can see. That’s about all I can think of for now but ill post up later what ever I missed. I’m loosing a lot of money on this sale but it has to go so I’m counting my losses. Which is in the thousands. I’m looking for about 8k for all this but price is negotiable so make me an offer. Pics are too big to upload and cant be bothered converting them so contact me for them. Car is located in Sydney
