definitely not ,I restore cars for a living , if a part of the car (body) was bolted on originally then the new part or panel can be . the tunnel must be welded in with an overlap it should be fully welded on one side and stitched on the other, it must be equal or greater in strength than the original part.

Beautiful work.. Would you consider making a 'package'? including possibly larger tunnel (for conversion), floor pans to match, boot floor, firewall between boot and cabin (coupe/sedan).

Are you limited to making anything?
yeh thats something I would consider .

Your a legend!!! I am keen on both front and rears as close to original as possible with factory strengths pressed in etc... From the work I have seen so far you seem
To be the man for the job

Looked at the ute floors today , they are the same as the coupe in the front , the rear is the same except it has been cut short to accommodate the short cabin.

if you have a look at his photo bucket album you will see that the doors are also pretty dead so it would really be a much better option to just get a new one. as if you are learning how to do repairs you wont get them spot on then you will have a whole heap of hassles getting it straight and what not. sure it would be a good learning experience but i'd not really advise doing it for any purpose other than learning how to do panel repairs

I agree pigdog I restore cars for a living and it is very easy for people to bite off more than they should , if you have the spare time and money and your only going toss the car anyway, learn on it before you throw it out .But if your new at it and learning don't attempt it if your not prepared to tip the end result.
