oval port has bigger port, bigger valves, yes?


meaning the powerband is shifted upward :)



i use a a12a stock bottom with a oval port head (H89) and stock a14 carbs on my b310. the result is superb :)

power from 3k rpm till 6k.

if i am not mistaken, b310 use longer tie rod ends. you can use b210 tie rod ends in a b310. but it will be shorter.

checked scrapyard at your hood? maybe you can pull a part. here in malaysia, a datsun is a must in a scrapyard. some mazda's carb is plug and play with datsun, they are also hitachi's... check out the carb mounting hole.

here in malaysia we got no winter, and the SU (bluebirds, not GX) carbs is really dirt cheap. i dunno why bluebird users here hates the stock carb.


do the oil in carbs get heated during a long drive in summer? it is really hot in here. and do i need to change the oil at specified interval?
