I was wondering if someone can help me out if they have done this conversion before.
i have 180b struts with verada discs and vl calipers. Will these bolt straight in? do i need different steering arms or tie rods? its an 81 model ute, do i need different control arms??
any help will be greatly appreciated, as i dont have the time to have the car off the road coz i found something didnt bolt up.....

voltage at the battery when running should be between 13.8 and 14.8 volts. check the voltage at the battery while you crank the engine over, and it should drop to around 10 volts for a good battery- 8 volts for a weak battery. that will tell u if your battery is the problem. Also u will have a positive battery terminal going to the starter, and u will have a small wire going to a terminal on the side of the solenoid. disconnect this and measure the voltage while cranking. It should be around 12. Otherwise u will have voltage drop caused mainly by the ignition switch and will stop the starter turning over. otherwise if alll this is right then it will no doubt be your starter motor. hope this helps

I am in canberra and my ute is an '81 model. I think the drum brakes all round will be the only thing the engineers will look down on.

hey, i have an s13 sr20det being rebuilt to go in my 1200 ute. i have already spoken to engineers about it. Has anyone done a sr20det 1200 conversion before. I am only a first year apprentice (auto electrician) and this is my first project car. i have a bit of proffesional help, but am looking for someone to give us a bit of an idea what i have to do about engine mounts and crossmember, to mount the engine. any help will be greatly appreciated.
p.s. the ute is on the way.. being beaten by my friend (spray painter? panel beater. i am rebuilding engine. All chrome bits have been sprayed high gloss silver, and have scored 8 litres of custom paint. It is based on the new falcon purple, has 11 pearls, and effect silver.
