water leak in driver footwell

Hi guys,

I have a really strange problem. When it rains, water gushes in at my feet - well from the weld just near the accelerator pedal. So I looked around and discovered a small hole at the top back of the wheel arch. This I assume is the drain hole for the front vents which sit on top. I have a 1200 coupe so the vents have a scoop.

I pumped fish oil up into the hole and it ended up coming out in the same place near the pedal.

So my question is, how do I fix this? What has gone wrong?

It can't be good to have water coming into these interior cavities which will then rust! I just hope it isn't going in anywhere else!

I'll buy the towbar if you still have it.

Could you put in a few shots of the interior to show the condition? It's a real beauty. All it would need to finish off is a five speed!

Engine is a DET. Yes I did pull the intercooler hose off to check the throttle was closing.
Must be a leak somewhere else. I remember it happened while I was coming out of a corner on boost.

Would be a huge leak though as it reaches redline in 2 seconds.

It is an aftermarket ecu, so I'll replace that. My feeling was that it would be an air rather than fuel leak, so perhaps the intake manifold gasket has blown a hole or as you say the IAC is stuck.
Thanks

Well the throttle was closed, my foot was off the accelerator. Still went to red line - should have been idling.
Every time I turn the engine on, straight to redline.

Hey guys,

just taking the car for a drive when the engine starts over revving. When I mean over revving I mean to redline and beyond so that I could hear valve bounce.

I checked the throttle cable: all ok, not staying open.

The only other thing I thought it could be was a broken fuel regulator.

It wouldn't stop revving until I turned the ignition off. It did puzzle me that it didn't run out of air even though the throttle was closed.

any ideas?

Talked to my engineer about drilled brake rotors and he said don't do it. It weakens them too much. Better to get slotted rotors in his opinion.

Hey,
anyone got the booster bracket that attaches the booster to the firewall? I'm missing that bit. Even a whole booster setup if you don't want to sell individually. Otherwise I'm off to the engineer and he'll have to make one : ( Was thinking to go with a remote clutch also, but too much work I think.
thanks, justin
