Just wondering if an engine can be
over cooled, say with a larger radiator?

I've noticed now with the colder weather my
CA18 runs much cooler, and the heater is quite poor.
It has a bigger rad.

Can a cool engine have bad fuel economy?

Hey,
I like the sound of your turbo system. So did the oxygen sensor from the Landi replace the one used by the car's computer, or did you have two in there?
Did you install the venturi just before the intake plenum/ just after the intercooler?
I guess you never had it registered? Would be great if this system was legal, don't see why not

So if you do lpg conversions, have you ever done a turbo vehicle? What's the total cost with the rebate? Would be great to have more info.
All turbo cars need at least a piggyback computer to alter timing on lpg. I've read it's very expensive.
I'm still keen to see tossers pics with some instructions on how he did it with the venturi setup. That way everyone can compare the pros and cons of each.

I went to work one day and parked the datto just outside the house. Spent all day slaving away only to find at 5pm my car was missing. I freaked out and asked all the neighbours if they'd seen anything strange, but no-one had. I had no option but to report it stolen to the police who were very helpful but weren't very positive.
About 6.30pm I went for another quick search and looked down a grass cliff face about 50 metres from where i'd parked. The drop off was at least 7 metres and it was hard to see stuff down there.
I could just make out a red tail light of my car which was entirely covered with lantana! Somehow it had rolled down and narrowly missed several huge trees....a true datsun miracle....that was the last time i left it out of gear! god bless datsuns

Thanks guys, i think after digesting all the great info that gas injection is too expensive at this stage.
Tosser, your setup sounds really simple and quite a bit cheaper even if it may not be quite as efficient/powerful as the injection set ups..
I would love to see pics of your set up on the cordia - it would help me to set mine up.
Did you have to modify timing/spark with a piggyback computer?

Hey i use an R32 radiator. Need to cut a small square of molding under the bonnet- just behind the bonnet latch to allow the rad cap to fit. Have to build up the mounts slightly on the bottom so the radiator doesn't sit on the plastic tanks and also cut off the top mounts for clearance.
I initially thought it wouldn't fit but Jake77 gave me the above advice, worked a treat. thicker than the S13 one too with inlet/ outlet in the same position. jus

Great, so you guys have already done it or are about to.
I guess the largest expense would be buying an aftermarket computer?
What about just re-mapping the existing chip (e-prom) on the CA computer? The timing would have to be changed.
What equipment is needed?

I've been thinking that with the high petrol prices it makes sense to choose a different fuel.
Has anyone done this conversion? I've heard of a few gas turbo cars so it must be possible.
You occasionally hear of taxi's blowing up their airboxes but with a turbo that would be disastrous.
Hmm.. gas injection? Next we should be using natural gas for fuel, there's bucket loads of it.
Good for running high boost too.

As measured by club members, by moving the float up and down from stop to stop:

12 ohms fully up
88 ohms fully down

This is on the wiki, ddgonzal passed this on to me. justin
