Thanks Chris and rallycar, Good to know I can actually do it without taking it to a suspension place. Save myself 300 or so bucks. Makes sense to do the shackles on the rear at the same time as it would provide a bit more movement to get the spring eyes off. justin

I've had a look at my bushes and they're completely shot on my 1200. I get a fair bit of movement from side to side. What's the best way of replacing all of them including the ones on the front and rear top brackets? Those bolts look pressed on so i presume I can only remove the nuts, then slide the whole spring off?? Any thoughts appreciated - i searched but found nothing on this. justin

I'm using the LB lancer master and booster with the S13 front brakes. Not sure what the bore is but probably 11/16. Mind you my brake pedal doesn't move down very much if i pump it a couple of times and then start the engine. Perhaps the booster is on the way out and explains the lack of responsiveness? Similar symptoms to your car pigdog.

Apparently one of the best brake pads is called Lucas or it's new name TRW. They fit them standard to most Euro cars (BMW, Mercedes etc) My brake place told me they brought out a video of various cars going down a mountain in the Alps and they weren't allowed to use the gears. At the end of the run they were still working but the wheels were glowing red and the tyres burst into flames. Keep in mind they probably eat rotors faster than your average pad, but then again rotors these days are pretty cheap.

Hey i've done the conversion using kev Rowley's caliper spacer and i also found the brakes to be not very effective - which made me think the master cylinder and caliper cylinder were in correctly matched or my brake pads were crap. My brake pedal is high which indicates there's plenty of fluid to fill the caliper cylinder. Most people have the opposite problem of having huge four spot calipers and pedal goes right to the floor. Perhaps the caliper cylinder is just too small? I doubt it though. Will check manual.

I didn't need to get the 120y hub machined down to fit the S13 discs, just fits straight over if i remember correctly. Just fit longer hub studs from a skyline and all good.

The tuning place must have checked the timing but i will double check it. and get the CAS checked. The exhaust cam - near the pulley? I'll compare it with my old engine. thanks
