Hi there,
I'm selling stanza castor rods which have been specially shortened for the stanza lca on 1200's. Perfect for strut swaps such as stanza/180b/200b etc.
These were from another car i no longer drive so I don't need them anymore. The bush assemblies are missing as they were too worn but I could dig up some nuts/washers if necessary.
460mm long
Asking price $30.00
I can post anywhere in Aus.
Call/text me on 0400 285 727
Cheers
Justin.

What's the status of things at the moment? Are you going ahead with sending a sample spring ruredi? I'm happy to contribute postage.

It seems that we will have to add on 20-30 lb/in to achieve stock results with a composite leaf. Any lower might be too soft..I think the official stance is composite leaves are 20% softer at any given rate of a steel spring.

If it helps Mark said that 140 lb/in in composite material is roughly equivalent to the stock steel spring rate in feel (ie. 109 lb/in as per 1200 wiki). I don't really understand how this is possible, perhaps less friction? could also have something to do with the progressive behaviour of composite vs. steel under load.

I have asked DON_1200 to take these measurements as he will have the coupe springs out of his car. I hope he remembers! it would be the only accurate way to do it. Surely though Mark would have all of these measurements already, he has made these in the past.

My recent reply from Mark:
Hello Justin,
The Flex-Tracks are priced at $320 per pair. They are bolted onto the shock plate, so the detail of the shock plate factors into what is involved in the Flex-Tracks. Could you get a camera shot from under your vehicle showing the bottom surface of a shock plate? We would be looking for a flat surface and if not flat, what features there are on the bottom part of the plate between the U-bolts. I would encourage you to consider a little bit higher spring rate. Our experience has been that an original 109 lb/in rate feels to most people like a little bit higher than 120 with our springs.
Thanks,
Mark
I'm not sure what he's trying to say with the spring rate, I suggested 120 lb/in and it sounds like he thought it was too low.

Yes well if some have had success with 120Y leaves, let's hear about it. I'm all for cheap options. I did try using the three leaves off the 120Y and it was very stiff and made my car oversteer. That's why I'm looking for a different option. Any pointers on using leaves from other vehicles on 1200s would be great though. What about the toyota corolla KE30 or KE35 for instance? They used rear leaf springs, and they're quite common.

I didn't realise they already had an anti tramp device! I'll find out how much it is.

Well soft rear springs at 110lbs will give a comfortable ride, but with too much power, i suspect even composite leaves will cause axle tramp?
I wonder if you could incorporate a single metal leaf as an over - rider or tramp dampener with a composite single leaf?
