Where can we obtain this Nistune miracle program? Will it tell us what sensor is stuffed?

I use the 120Y speedo cable and housing with the skyline stumpy, works well. It's a tight fit in the tunnel but just fits with a bit of massaging.

I tried this unknowingly (someone sold me a DET but I got a DE plus turbo)and it seemed to go quite well with the DET computer, injectors, turbo. There were detonation issues using a modded chip and higher boost, but then Dr Drift tuned the car using his chip and it ran fine on 12psi. If you can tune the car yourself, well and good. if not, it can be an expense. Far more torque at low rpm than DET engine, easier to drive. I wish computer software came standard with all vehicles so tuning and sensor faults could be a cinch.

More compression on a CA18DE = detonation when combined with turbo. You have to tune it with an aftermarket chip or microtech (or similar).

Hey, there's a 120Y at the Chinchilla wreckers if you can stand the 3-4 hour drive. front apron still there, probably will be for quite a while.

just noticed your're using silicone for the turbo intake - make sure it's stiff stuff otherwise the suction of the turbo will collapse the pipe. Happened with mine. Just a thought.

Sounds right,
my CA18DET conversion was 900kg, probably heavier now i've redone the interior and added bigger seats, nice marine ply boot etc.

CA18DET timing issue

I just replaced my CA18DET. It starts but the idle varies and then the engine dies, with some backfires, so I'm assuming it's a timing issue.
The engine came with the CAS removed. I had to replace a seized water pump and this involved removing the crank pulley - I also turned the engine over several times by hand. I did loosen a cam belt positioner, but did not remove it, so this can't be a problem. With no CAS on the engine while I was turning it, would this have put the timing out?
The half moons were still on the cam and CAS.

Nice rims, like mini lites. The lighter the wheel, the better. I wonder if anyone has a list of the best factory alloy rims to suit 1200s.

Can you give us any tips on how to get the thing out? I read there was some kind of joint that needs a carefully aimed hit with two hammers simultaneously? or was that three hammers?
Anyway, it's apparently complicated.
Is it really hard?
