okay found a live wire with a plug going to the battery that might be the cause for the brake lights staying on. If i disconnect it the brake lights go off completely and so do the headlights. If i leave it on the headlights work but the brake lights stay on. Argh. What do i do?

Today being a sick day, I mustered up some strength to work on my ute.
Since the time I bought it roughly a year ago, there has always been some sort of electrical problem where the battery drains out flat every 2 or 3 days unless I drive it a fair distance in between to charge it up. Very annoying.
Replaced the battery...problem still there. Tested the alternator...runs at 13.8 volts constant when engine is running.
After having a flat battery all last week (arghhhh), I decided to look around at some wires even though I don't really know anything about auto electrics.
In my travels, I found two very heavy gauge black wires that were cut and stuffed in a very small opening underneath the tray directly where the sports bar once was located. I found this suspicious so I started tracing the wires which ran the whole length of the ute underneath and up into the engine bay where they were connected to some sort of relay with a ton more smaller wires coming out of it and one directly to the battery terminal with a 20 amp fuse intact in between.
I took these wires out, and traced the rest of the smaller wires which most ran inside the cabin to two switches which I have always wondered why they were there. I'm thinking that this whole setup was once some day long ago for external lights mounted on the sports bar Mad Max style.
One of the smaller wires was tapped into the driver's side headlight which has blown once before. So I disconnected that and taped up the exposed bit of wire.
Started her up and everything works just as before. I'm hoping that the battery drain problem now goes away (fingers crossed).

Tonight, while looking around under the hood, I found a hose that goes from my brake booster to a little valve on the intake manifold into my A15 that looked damaged and flattened. Thinking that this was probably not good, I went out and bought a new hose line, disconnected the old one from the intake and then the brake booster and replaced it, screwing it down on each end with some hose clamps like what was done before. Everything is normal except when I touched the brakes the first time the pedal was stiff. Touched it a few more times and it was better but the engine revs up about 500 rpms from idle...is this normal?
What does the hose do and what is the valve pictured on my intake do?
Just worried I've done something wrong.
Cheers.

Hey Gerry got my decals...thanks! Quick question though...the ones you sent seem to be self-adhesive? but your install video shows to dip them in soapy water. Just wondering if I still dip them in soapy water first or not?
Thanks.
