120Y - how does the base of the plastic front grille attach? |

The top of the grille attaches no problems, there are half a dozen trim screws that go into nylon holders.
The bottom of the grille is loose, and there seem to be mounting holes in it, but there's nothing to mount it to. Has anyone got a picture of whatever-it-is under there that it's supposed to mount to? I obviously need to make one up, or get one from the wreckers.

Hey guys
Getting a roadworthy soon and just checking all my lights etc in advance.
Headlights come on fine but high beams don't seem to be working, but I can't remember exactly how they turn on so it's difficult to trace! There's a switch to the right of the steering wheel. You can:
pull it outward once pull it outward a second time once it's out you can rotate it one 'click' clockwise
Can anyone please tell me what each of these three positions is? Also any tips on sorting the high beam issue would be great. There doesn't seem to be a separate fuse but I've recently had the dash out and thinking maybe I missed a plug somewhere? Other lights are 100% fine, though, so that seems strange.

One type is lighter that the other :)
I'm sure other members can provide more useful details :)

The manual for my TIG is 10 pages of absolute hilarity!
"Security warning: All maintenances, the overhaul work must carry on completely in dump's situation, please confirm that the power plug is tear off before openning the case"

At 32yo I generally think of myself as a bit of an old fart on the internet... but holy crap you were racing two years before I was born!

1200 coupes seem to be fairly sought-after, but yeah I think $2k is a little spendy?

They're a prick for parking, off-camber corners, and in the wet. Other than that they're workable but honestly they're not much fun once you get over the novelty.

oh and does anyone know what 1000s weigh what? i saw "625-705kg" which as a percentage is a massive difference... so i'm interested to know what a ute, coupe, sedan, wagon, whatever weighs

I have no interest in 'racing' so much as having something that's fun to take to the odd sprint day/hillclimb/motorkhana. i'll never be good enough or rich enough to be competitive so i don't see the point in spending extra money to engineer compromises into a car!
i'm certainly interested in doing a bare-bones A-series Datsun 1000, or a bike-engined one, when I sell the 120Y later in the year.
