nice looking donk sitting there.

I wouldnt say the rust is THAT bad either, i mean ive seen a lot worse, and by the looks if someone is willing to go this far with strengthening, customizing and rebuilding I would generally say that the person doing so is not a complete fool... Personally i probably wouldnt have gone quite this far so quickly, but each to their own.

Im loving the customization on the cab Ernie! I look forward to seeing it completed, i wonder though how will that window going being on the angle it is seeing out of and reflection wise?

You sure have your work cut out, i look forward to seeing the completion of your customized ute!

Plans to shave it? door, tailgate etc?

Will it be a show car, neat streeter or daily worker?

Any plans for tray cover, i would think a hardtop will be an expensive option, the design will be interesting with the moved cab wall, speaking of which, should make some nice room for a sub so be squeezed in there somehow lol.

excellent work!

I would highly recommend this specific type of drill bit, brand i couldnt tell you. I have heard nothing but good about these bits, and i brought one myself was awesome, as Simon said, keep them cool and drill on a slow speed.
There was only really one thing I found could have been better with this bit, it was rather short (perhaps for more strength, i don't know) so for example when I was drilling the tie hooks on my ute tray, it was a little tight, still worked with a bit to clear but tight....

I havent had experience with these drill bits myself, however when i did the research on a spot weld drill bit there was nothing but comments on short lifespans and braking chipping teeth...

sorry i meant, it wouldnt surprise me if the bog begun to crack after a few years of use...

You can also use fibreglass bog, but thats twice as hard and long to sand again...

I'm pretty sure you can purchase this panel as a replacement part, the panel will just need to be drilled and welded back in. Brand new i think i remember they were wanting 900-1000 for a nissan one?

Or checkerplate....

If you bog and maybe throw a decent rubber mat over the top, i would think it'd be ok, but would surprise me if you had bog begin to crack not long after doing it, especially if you use the tray. (ie, not long being within a few years...)
