Thanks for the advice Chris. I reckon you're right, they just want to see a closed cycle system rather than what I've got now (air filter coming off the rocker and everything else blocked off).

It will prob be a week or two before i can take another day off to run the gauntlet again, so if you've got some time when you've finished uni that would be awesome.

Hey guys

So I took blue devil to get regoed this afternoon and the nice rego people were most upset that I had replaced the odometer and asked me to write a letter to their friends at consumer affairs to get special permission (apparently retrospectively to do this) and then make the nice trip out to Regency Park again.

They were also very upset that my weber carby didn't have any pollution control gear hooked up (it's an 85 model and apparently mandatory after 70something). So I am after a stock A-series carby WITH all of the pollution stuff intact that I can swap over to get through rego. Is anyone able to help?

Cheers
Stefan

Maybe try putting this on ozdat.com if you haven't already?

Ok so it's been a while. Datsun got here, but arrived with lots of paint chips taken out of the front and side. It looks like it's been hit with bits of gravel or something. TOLL weren't having a bar of it when I rang up to complain and said that "due to the age of the vehicle" they weren't going to fix it. I've had a bit more of a whinge and they are going to come out and have a look. Pretty dark about it though.

I took my coilover struts up to maddat and they are putting the S13 disc brakes on them, but apparently they are some weirdo early 120Y struts and so it's taking a while to get bearings for them. The rear drums were also seized and since I don't really know what I'm doing I figured it was safer to get them to have a look. Should all be ready today though, then I just have to put on my new bumper and take it through the rego inspection. Pics up soon!

So you have to drill the press studs in to the top of the tray?

How do these attach, it doesn't look like you're using the original hooks? Do they come with a support bar for halfway down the tray? And what are they made from? That marine vinyl stuff?

Cheers

It's a big country... depends what you want to see! you can get between cities by rail but probably easier to fly cos it's so much faster (and usually cheaper)
