Thanks Davo, I made up some brackets of my own, I had a bit of mucking around getting some clearance in between the sump and the crossmember. And I also had to remove the mechanical
fuel pump and make a blanking plate to clear the engine mount. I've just got to do all the fiddly little things and some wiring(alternator) to get it going, then I'll take it to the
exhaust shop.

Disc Brakes on a 1000

Hi guys I've finally figured out how to put disc brakes onto a strutless datsun 1000. Its not as hard as I thought. I've used late model 120Y hubs and discs (219mm in diameter),
which slide straight onto the 1000 stub axle. I got some GE (Chrylser) Sigma front calipers and caliper mounts. Then weld up 3 of the 4 mounting holes in the caliper mount and
redrill the 4 holes so they fit onto the 1000 stub axle ( using the old drum brake as a template to drill the holes ). I also have to machine about 2 mm off the heads of the 4 bolts
that hold the caliper mounts onto the stub axle. too easy! :) took me a loong time to figure out though !

I'm in sydney too. Once a few more of us have finished our cars we should organize something, possibly to co-incide with a
sydney datsun club cruise.

I think the 'GX' bonnets only came into Australia on GX model 1200 coupes, which also came with the better gx engine
(su's and head).

Evenin' guys,
I've decided to abort my turbo project, I'm staying naturally aspirated for now. So I'm selling my turbo setup. It suits an A12/14/15. Its the manifolds, turbo, carby, and all
the bits you'll need to do it.
If you're interested email me off the list at twitch@bigpond.com

Hi Adam,
Me and a mate fitted a 45mm DCOE to his mini recently, he got the linkage parts from redline racing in Bullecourt rd. Bankstown. The parts are made by 'lynx' he has a bunch of
spare bits which Im sure you could have cheaply, You'd probably have to get a few more bits n pieces, I think you can get them from supercheap auto.
Let me know if you're interested.

I reckon the A12 carby and exhaust would be restricting the engine somewhat, The A12 head has small round inlet ports, where the A14 has larger oval shaped ports. so
try an A14 inletexhaust manifold and Carby first.
