yep he got a standard exhaust manifold, and cut a hole in the flat section above cylinders 2&3, then welded a flat plate onto it, then welded the turbo flange onto that. I'd bet davo could do it with his eyes closed :) I don't know how much boost i'll be able to safely run, probably 5-7 psi. anymore it'll ping, so for more boost I'd have to drop the compression andor setup a water spray into the carby. You'll note that there is a hobbs switch on the inlet manifold, this could be used to trigger the water spray. Sorry I havent contacted you about the weber, I've been all over the place moving house.. James.

It doesn't sit up as high as it looks in those pictures, it comes up about 2 - 2.5 inches above the valve cover. the U-pipe goes close to the bonnet though. B10's were sold in Australia from 1968 to 1970 i think.. (i've owned a 68'wagon (VB10) and this 69 coupe(KB10). They also came in 2 door sedan and 4 door sedan versions. theres not many of them left over here, far less than 1200's. James.

This weekend (Easter 13,14,15th april) there is a big Datsun show on in Sheparton Victoria, About 9-10 of us Sydney Datsun Club guys are driving down for this, it should be a ripper :) The Datnet cruise/parts swap meet is on the 22nd April, 9:30am at the Westbound petrol station on the M4. I'll be bringing the coupe to this one, see you there. For more info check out :- www.datnet.org james. (linc i could bring the weber along then if you like )

Yeah, the exhuast pulses have to travel further from the 4th cylinder, and they have an indirect path to get there. This certainly isn't as efficient as it could be. I could give you a look at the manifold, I'm not going to be using it for a while yet, maybe I can bring it to the datnet cruise. james.

>What sort of HP are u chasing? Are u going to go >the whole hog on the head and block or are u >going to use a rebuilt A14 or 15? Gotta >go.....cya I'm not sure how much power i'll get, I just want the coupe to be pretty quick, however I don't want to have a sluggish low compression motor. So not less than 8.5:1 compression, and around 7-11psi boost. I'm tossing up whether I can afford forged pistons or not, they may save me money in the long run. On the head, I'll get some minor porting, maybe bigger valves if I can afford it. And heavier than standard valve springs too. Electronic ignition is a must, standard cam, lightened flywheel and a good clutch. I want to use an A15, more displacement the better I reckon. Still want to sell me that 5 speed Davo? :) James.

>I have seen many of those articles on the >air/fule ratio meters but can't remember what >sensors they use to trigger the system. If they >use the oxygen sensors from factory cars as I >suspect, then I'm sure I read they don't last >when exposed to leaded (super) fuel. What are >you going to run in the car. Leaded Fuel is no longer available here in NSW, but I plan to use optimax and PULP anyway. I've got a jaycar LED kit which plugs into the Lambda (exhaust)sensor from most factory efi cars, I've got a few sensors too, easily pocketed at the pick'n'pull wreckers. >With a direct path from the turbo to inlet does >that mean you are not using any form of cooling >of the inlet charge. Yep, no form of cooling, its the worst thing about suck-through setups. So I'll have to strictly limit how much boost I will use. I would like to try setup some sort of water spray that is activated by a pressure switch. james.
