Yeah, I'd love to get my turbo engine up to the sort of HP figures you've got.. I've got a definate weight advantage though, the 1000 coupe is only 660 kilos. What was
Andrew's best quarter mile time with your engine?

By the way, Is anyone else on the list going to the nissandatsun National show in Sheparton, On Easter long weekend? should be a big one!

James.

I'm glad I'm not the only one out there trying to do this conversion. Ideally I'd really like ventilated front disks, and decent sized calipers, because I intend on putting a turbo
A15 in my coupe. I've been told (but I haven't confirmed it) that a nissan C20 vanette hub and calipers work. If this is true they'd be perfect, because they are big, ventilated, and
cheap.

I've spoken to Datspeed in Penrith, they do lots of brake conversions on 1600's 240z's etc, and they said if I could bring in a 1000 stub axle they could find something to fit. So I'm
trying to find a wrecked 1000 to pull a stub axle and hub out of. I'll keep you informed when I do figure it out though.

Gday list,
I picked up my A series turbo setup today. It's a suck through setup with an IHI RB6 turbo (off a 2Litre mitsubishi Galant). The setup consists of a factory A15 exhaust manifold thats had a
turbo flange welded onto it, and the standard exhuast flange is welded shut. The inlet manifold has been made from scratch and looks like it should flow evenly, theres a 'U' shaped pipe that
connects the turbo to the inlet manifold. Theres a 1.5 inch English SU which mounts onto the front of the turbo. That probably wont make much sense until I upload some pictures of it. I
havent recieved the dump pipe yet, it was sent to me seperately. Can anyone recommend what size exhaust to run this setup on? I'm guessing either 2.25 - 2.5 inch ought to do it? What do you
reckon davo ?
I also want to get an exhaust sensor mounted (maybe in or near the dump pipe) so I can run one of those richlean LEDs.

thanks,
James.

No worries, Probably a bit far away anyhow :)(I'm in sydney) Could you let me know how he goes fitting those disks on the 1000. Im having great difficulty finding
any definate information about what actually fits.

You dont happen to be parting out the rest of this vanette are you fester? I would like the front stub axles, hubs and calipers if you are
:)
I've been investigating fitting those ventilated disks on my 1000, it looks like the might fit.

The weber is fine as is, was running well when i pulled it off my A12 1000 wagon (before i sold it). I've got some A-series extractors to get rid of too if anyone is
interested, there yours for $50. I'm in Sydney btw.

I have a spare DGAV 32/36 weber that came off my old A12 if you want it? it has a 'lynx' adapter plate, which bolts on to a standard inlet manifold. say $80. I think it has a
k&n air filter too.

seems like alot of work for no gain in displacement, why not keep the A15 crank ?

I got my old 1600 with 200b struts,L20b engine and C210 skyline 5 speed engineered with loening brothers a few years ago, they were pretty good to deal with, cost about $250
i think. They knocked me back for a few minor things, but that car was a real beater! I'm going to get my 1000 coupe done by them when the time comes.

Hi all, I have just bought a suck through turbo setup to suit an oval port head A series engine. It has an SU carb mounted on an IHI RB6 turbo, this turbo was originally off a 2Litre
mitsubishi galant, and it has been rebuilt and modified so it now has garret internals. I plan to put this setup in my 1000 coupe, but i think this turbo is too big to put on the A10 i have
at the moment. So I'd like to build an engine to suit this setup, either an A14 or A15 bottom end, with an oval port head. I'd like to know if E15 turbo pulsar pistons (and rods) can be made
to fit an A14/15 block. Also I'd like to find out engine specs for A series engines, things like bore, stroke, volume of combustion chambers, standard compression ratios, etc.

thanks,
James
