What Carb do you have on it? if it is stock or a 32/36 weber, the stock pump will be fine. if it's pinging, retard the timing a little and see how you go. also check you have the vacuum advance hooked up.
and premium will help as the higher octane will help it burn better.

people have stated that it corrodes engine parts, degrades plastics in gaskets, and corrodes metal. it is also stated it can be harmful to your engine on cold starts as it is a leaner mixture, this was written to the govement by holden and toyota with their concerns.
seriously guys, i need a fix. this is the only thing stopping me from taking it to get a roadworthy, as the whole speedo is a major part of the test....
if anyone has any ideas it would be great!

i'm looking for a 90 degree speedo sender for my Lseries to 120Y converion.
i am having trouble bolting up the factory speedo bcable to the drive on the Gbox as it fould on the body where the crossmember bolt holes are (if that makes sense)
so i need 90 degree sender or a cable with a 90 degree end on it that will work. does anyone know of one that will fit? i have a TRX 5 speed.
i have talked ot datsport and they are doing the same thing at the moment. they have tried the 90 output from an LS400 box and it fouls on the body. they are still looking for a fix i think, but baz is on holiday.

i love it, getting in and breathing it in, i get in my coupe when i'm out working on it and just breathing in there reminds me of it all, and everytime i get in a datsun it brings back so many memories.
the best!

I would do the Lseries conversion as well. i am doing it and is soon to be finished for real. this wet weather on a motorbike is stupid!
use the 180B crossmember and Lower Control Arms, 180B Castor rods.
120Y Gearbox crossmember. 180B Radiator stanza struts or 120Y struts with sunny hubs leone discs and volvo 4 pot calipers. shortened tailshaft. and you should be away.
you can find 180B's relativly cheap or even a L18 and bits from the wreckers. so you know as well for a cheap brake upgrade, you can use 1600 standard brakes they bolt to the 120Y struts and arew bigger than stock and will pull up the lighter 120Y nicely.
