well if by front rotor conversion you mean disc front end and a spare engine with 5speed so you have 2 5 speeds? then $2000 wouldn't cover the disc conversion and the 2 gearboxes, looks great! be sure to check out the Perth datsun club we have a meet every month and go cruising, it's a great little community we have all details can be found at www.ozdat.com/forum

welcome aboard!!!!

most book exchanges have an auto section just look around or look on ebay they reguarly pop up in there, fill in your location so we can help you out better with locations of things...

also check out http://ozdat.com/forum we have a regular monthly meeting to hang out talk datsuns trade parts and generally help out and go on cruises. i have the same nick as here.

if you ask in the WA section on ozdat there might be someone with the pages you need and can scan them for you...

the first thing you should do is get a workshop manual for the engine and one for the car they are about $10 from a second hand book shop, get a vanette book for the engine and a 1200 book for the rest, it will be invaluable!

an immobiliser would be a good start, maybe a pit bull in the car overnight, the rotor button is a good idea, (who carries one of them around while hunting for a car to steal) put a sticker on the steering wheel mentioning that you don't want to do another life sentence but if you have to you will. or sit in the dark with a baseball bat and see if they come back and if so hit them, it's a very good deterrent.

i was working on the verge of my old house under my old 180B and had some guys come past and yell some abuse so i stuck my head up they stopped and got out "young tough guys all 5 of them" i picked up my 4x4 temp wood crossmember put it over my shoulder as i stood up 6'5" and they all ran back in the car. big lumps of wood are good deterrents.....

but the steel loop in the floor is a good idea i'm going to have a couple of those in my shed for my motorbikes...
