If it's a ZD30 engine and it's blowing white smoke run for the hills! I worked at Nissan when the ZD30 was around in it's early days and were replacing motors left right and centre! They were an excellent engine power wise but they were a grenade waiting to explode!
Do a forum search of ZD30 engines and you will be inundated by explosion or melted piston stories. They used to warp a few heads too from memory.

Wurzel I checked our tender cars and there's nothing much there this week. If you haven't got anything by mid next week let me know and I'll check again. We just had a petrol D40 ST-X come through today but it's a bit pricey for what it is (mid $20's).

Guys I can vouch for Waynes great stuff, I picked up a set of ute front floor pans and they're great!
Wayne I reckon you would make a killing out of doing ute tray floors. I for one would definately grab one.
Another idea is the inner guard section where the front bumper mounts to. Ideally you could make the inner guard and also the thicker section that spot welds on with the nuts on it for the bumper. These are quite often rusted beyond recognition too.
Again, do these and I'm all over a set! I'm too lazy/incompetent to make any panels myself.

I'll keep an eye on our wholesale cars that come through if ya like.
Being in Melbourne it'll be easy to get here to look at something. I'll be able to get it for you for $500 over wholesale which should save you a few $$$.

Very dorky I know but I decided to do a video log of my build on Youtube as well. I'll just do an update every time I'm actually getting somewhere.
Here's the first installment from last week-

Nobody is asking the real question here- "What's the new Nissan toy?"

We're digressing a bit here but I'm trying to make VT Commodore (396mm rotors)brakes fit to Stanza struts. It's looking pretty tricky but I've cut down the back of the Commodore hub, machined the centre out of the hub out so it slides over the top of the Stanza hub which now needs to be machined back the same thickness as the hub plate of the Commodore so it's spaced in the right spot. I then need to drill holes and tap threads into the Commodore hub plate to bolt it to the Stanza hub where the disc formerly bolted on. God that sounds confusing! I'll be sure to post the results in my build page once I get stuck into it properly.
Now back on topic!

What setup is that Levey? Looks sizeable! The calipers look like VL turbo or something like that.

Hi Russ,
I might be a little vague here but can you please explain a little more what you did? Was it basically an adjustable strut top that you bought from Ford? Where were the eccentric bolts for? Were they like an offset bolt for the strut top? Keen to hear more details.
Cheers.
