I agree with Dattoboy that the Ottomoto kits are probably the best value.
For $299 you get the sleeve kit that you can convert your struts to coilovers with and then another $299 for the adjustable camber tops. They do them for all different sizes of strut tube. Most notably for the Stanza conversion they come in the 51mm outer diameter.
Obviously you still need to factor in a new set of inserts that are short enough to keep the springs captive when the car is jacked up and the labour if your.
When you factor in everything it is a bloody expensive exercise but well worth it.
Then there's the brake upgrades........

Got the boys in the transmission/diff workshop at work to drill a nice hole in my bracket for the clutch. I've got a slight lack of 33mm drill bits at home so thank god for utilising other departments at work for a change!

This is engine mount design number 25. That's what it feels like anyway! It's still not perfect. My spacing is out by about 8mm to one side. I just can't get the bloody thing perfect!
Hopefully rather than having to completely redo it I'll be able to modify this one. I am OVER f'ing engine mounts!!!!

Hey cadet1200, thanks for that. I would do an engine bay master but seeing as I'm using an S14 engine there just isn't the room in the engine bay for it. As it is the 10mm spacing rule is coming into play for the space between the brake master cylinder and the inlet manifold. The clutch just wouldn't fit full stop.
It's all trial and error! Fun fun.

I got myself some new Volksy rear intrusion bars so I'm definately re-doing the engine mounts. Not happy with the aggy look anymore! F#&k it all, the first set (I should say sets, again lots of trial and error!) took me 3 days to make, hopefully the next set will be a bit quicker!!

There ya go! Wardy's is a perfect example. His looks super crisp and clean. Love it.
As a side note, if anyone needs any paint from the PPG range I can help out. The dealership I work for is a preferred supplier for PPG so I should be able to get you pretty good prices. Only really an advantage if you're in Melbourne but thought I'd offer!

I reckon go the starkest white you can find. The original Datto whites are quite milky so I reckon the super clean whites look the best.
Each to their own!

unfamilia- The fans are good old Ebay jobbies. It only cost me about $75 for the two of them. I just searched through the multitude of them on there and found the slimmest one I could find. You can wire them up as either push or pull.

Ed- I'm pretty sure you might be right about the burn back control, I've never played with that switch so I'll give it a go, cheers!

Gee they build them a lot prettier over this side of the country don't they?
I mean the car of course!
Happy birthday.

Bought a few new bits over the last few weeks-

Bosch 044 fuel pump-

Just waiting to hear back from some metal fab guys who will make me a surge tank. Going to run dash 8 braided hose from the surge to the engine. I'm going to mount the surge tank under the tray on the passenger side. I'm also going to remotely mount the battery under the tray as well. Might be a prick of a job but will be a lot neater than the usual in the tray/boot job.

3" High flow cat-

They flow about 3 times more than a normal cat.

Turbo dump pipe-

Regretted buying this as soon as I got it as it doesn't have a 3 inch outlet. I've tracked one down that does so anyone want an SR20 dump??

I got two of these 9" super slim thermo fans. There's bugger all room at the front so need everything to be as thin as possible-

I've bitten the bullet and bought a Maddat trans tunnel as well. I wanted to do all of it myself but as panel isn't my strong point I'll make an exception!

Ok, been bloody slack lately. Just been trying to get the engine mounts sorted in the bugger all spare time I get. Going from a 6 day to 5 day work week soon so that might help! Getting serious grief from the missus for what little time I spend out there as it is so it might not make any difference! I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about!

Anyway, I've pretty much finished the engine mounts but I'm not quite 100% happy with them. I might even completely redo them so they're perfect. We'll see. They ended up being about 10mm too low. I dunno how I f'd it up! I've got them spaced with a few bits of 0.6mm plate each side so looks a bit aggy-

I decided to have a break from the engine side of things today so started working on the clutch setup under the dash.
I ground down the upper end of the pedal where the cable normally connects and then welded in a bit of matching thickness steel so I can redrill a hole for the master cylinder rod. It came up pretty good-

I'm not sure if I'll end up using this mount but you've gotta start somewhere! I wanted to make sure it was going to be rigid enough for if I put in a heavy duty clutch. Be great to snap a master cylinder mount mid quarter! Anyway, this is how it looks for now. Just gotta drill a 33mm hole in the middle then drill the bolt holes. It might end up being a bit bulky but I'll put all the dash in before I get too worried-

Just to give you an idea how it would roughly look-

Melted the crap out of a mig tip today. Not sure why? Too much voltage maybe?
