what is powering your dist???????? remember that it is a stand alone unit. IF your ECM needs a tach signal to fire the system, use the diagram you got for a location.

check your power wire color, black/white is constant power when the ignition is on, and black/red is coil bypass, as in only powered in the start position. where you have eliminated the need for a ballist resistor, it could have mistakingly been hooked up wrong.

Funny, I offered one for sale a few days ago, and no one even looked at it twice. again make a REASONABLE offer that will include the cost of shipping from here to there, (USA to OZ) and it will be yours. I did forget to mention that from 1979 on ALL cars built for the USA had electronic ignition find my original post, read it and then decide for yourself, I can email pics.

other possable ways of "fixing" the problem without a lot of brain damage are to use the vacuum advance port for the distributor to also supply the trans. or get a vacuum canister like many of the GM and Ford cars use on thier cruise controll systems, these look something like a juice can with vacuum fittings on them, built into them is a one way valve to allow vacuum to be stored and allow enough to be there when it is needed, you can probably get one at a local wrecker for next to nothing. that would save you the time and expense of modifying or changing the trans.

there is a vacuum line that runs from the intake manifold to the vacuum modulator on the rear of the trans, if you disconnected it, or it has a hole in it the trans won't shift. figure out why it isn't hooked up, rehook it up and it should shift much better. most RWD Nissan transmissions are very similar to Ford's C4 trans, both in construction and operation. any good trans guy should be able to advise you further.

there is no need to get exotic with a pressure regulator or the injectors. the press. reg. works by increasing pressure when vacuum is reduced, ie: wide open throttle or under boost conditions. the early L28ET engines used the same pressure regulators as the N/A version did, and never had any problems. unless it is leaking or won't hold pressure, there isn't any reason to change it. for injectors, use the figure of 1.4-1.6 to multiply engine displacement, in your case 2.1-2.4 l disp. as a baseline figure for fuel requirement, this will put you very close to the necessary increase in fuel. there are a good number of stock injectors that you should be able to aquire from your local wreckers for a reasonable price without needing to spend a ton of money. think of CA20, FJ20, and KA24. the L serier 6 cyl. ones will work but might run a bit lean. referencing another post you made concerning MAP sensors, IF you got the Saab 900 turbo (93-98) there, they also use a Delco system and are set up for boost, if not let me know I can get you one.
