What I would do.

1. put all your bolts into a box
2. start putting the ute back together
3. look through box for right bolt/s
4. if you don't have enough bolts for the application, take one out and go to bunnings and buy like 5 10 packs of that bolt.

Remember, a lot of Datsun 1200 bolts are similar pitch etc etc.

My 2c at least.

Isn't it supposed to be welded around the perimeter?

Yeah but he said he didn't want to send it off to a panel beater if he can help it.
I thought my suggestion was the best for keeping structural integrity without a dodgy glue over job haha.

Crab...I know glueing over the top is dodgy and would probably end up trapping moisture between the layers. But there are some pretty fancy panel glues out there now and this would make it possible for those that can't weld to get a decent result without having to pay a panel beater.

If it had to come down to this, I'd be using a grinder to remove the tray and leaving a 30mm strip around the edge and use sika-flex to adhere the new panel to the 30mm strip + the 3 horizontal support bars.

No gap for moisture to build and still structurally sound as sika-flex is awesome to use.

Dodgy as fix to glue something over the top :/
$900 is a reasonable price as it fits straight in, you'd be looking at around that for a custom floor, that could possible be 2-3x heavier.
My floor is a bit dinged up, but once painted black it blends in more, and i am going to be using it as a ute so it doesn't make sense to buy a brand new floor when its going to be dinged up almost straight away.

My 2c anyway.

Crab45 it could be the bushes on the caster bars too, mine were rooted so I put new ones in and fixed it straight away.

Not the bushes, they've all be replaced, hasn't driven 100m on them haha.
I'll play with the steering lock thingo on the LCA after I get new tires.
Maybe going from 175/65 to 165/55 will do the trick for me.

My 13x6's rub on the wheel well on turning, I have a feeling its because I haven't adjusted the steer stopper bolt on the LCA properly.
