150km with 24l of fuel thats horrible for any A series engine i would think the carby is jetted extremely rich.
i have a weber 34 adm and get more than 200km from 18 litres.
as for your other problem of stalling it seems that your float level could be to high especially if you start it and you have to keep the revs up a bit for few seconds because its flooded.
if the floats high and you take it on a hill you may see the idle drop and engine sputter.
but you said it was after putting in 95 octane but worked before so maybe totally different problem.
thanks

Or if you cant see the marks at all take out number one plug and hold a screw driver near the top of piston and when you turn it you will feel piston hit the screw driver TDC is when its fully up.

just put the engine on tdc and adjust the rocker arms that move up and down others that are tight you move the engine around another full turn back to tdc so the other rockers will loosen up and you then adjust them.

sounds nice wandering if acceleration would be affected greatly?
also stock1200ute1 if you dont mind me asking what modifications did you make to the a12 to give it more torque (was thier head porting involved) did you change the camshaft? do you know which one it is?
i would love bit more torque from the a12
Thanks!

thanks guys yer its 3.9 borgwarner 68 rear end i reckon it used to be around 3500 at 100km/h with the 13 inch tyres
dd seems that it wont cause much harm sittting that high rpm its just sound like the engines screaming of its head LOL.
with the 12 inch it spins the wheels every corner if you kick the clutch a bit which is fun and take of is abit better imo hehe.
Thanks seems the old a12 can take it :)

hi i have a 120y with a12 engine and a 4 speed 56a gearbox. I have 12 inch tyres at the back and 14 upfront and at 100km/hr it sits on exactly 4000rpm and around 4500rpm at 110 km/h this seems excessive to me?
the car would be basicaly not drivable at 120km/h for long trips?
Thanks im quite sure it was quite less with my 13inch wheels it just one had ripped so i changed them

weber 38 or weber 34adm fron the 4.1 ford falcon xf i have had great experience with this carb for my a12 all that was needed was smaller idle jets and to decrease the secondary main jet primary side was perfect.
