thanks turbo12.

In the DBA catalogue it mentions an 86-87 prelude with a 262mm disc and then. I imagine that's the one?

After that there is 87-91 model which uses a 282mm disc. This would be too big.

Just confirming that it is the model with the 262mm disc?

G'day guys,

I've read the couple of threads floating around about the hilux 4 spot conversion and gathered a pair of calipers. I'm just confused as to which disc to use. Somebody has said to use a DBA919 = S13 SR20det disc but has also suggested that it is the same as the U12 Pintara disc DBA903.

The S13 SR20det disc is 280mm diam and the listed U12 Pintara disc is only 258mm and is DBA617 and then smaller S13 disc option is 250mm with the same offsett DBA918.

280mm seems too big to fit on the stanza strut with no adapter for the caliper. Can anybody confirm if it is infact the smaller 258mm pintara disc or the smaller thinner 250mm S13 item I need?

Thanks in advance

You pretty much leave the 1200 loom alone. You can chop off the couple of wires that went on the A12. You use the 1200 loom to trigger the starter motor. That should go straight on (it's a single spade). You can also wire the CA alternator into the standard loom where the original one's fat 12V wire is (I think it's white with red tracer). You need to splice into the datsun loom for the ignition relay trigger. You can, although I don't think it's essential, splice into the cranking 12v signal in the original loom for the signal to the CA computer as it has an input for cranking 12v.

I think that's pretty much it.

G'day guys,

I'm selling my 13x6 jellybean wheels and tyres. They have 7inch Avon tyres on them. 1 tyre is no good. The other 3 tyres have a litte bit left on them. Would be ideal for the drags. These tyres are very sticky once warm. This is the best pic I have unfortunately.

$60

Why would it be a blocked exhaust? He doesn't have a cat and the thing dies, it's not just down on power.

Yeah Andy the bearings in mine have developed a bit of play. How much would a pair of new ones cost me and will they fit in the old plates? I'm pulling the struts out soon to do a brake and spring upgrade so it would be a good time to get into them.

cheers

Dave

I would put my money on an Airflow meter/ air leak problem.

Start with cleaning the element with alcohol because they can get gunked up. You may be hitting the boost cut with a confused computer.

Check again that there are no air leaks from the back of the airflow meter to the inlet manifold. Also check you have all the fitting plugged up on the inlet manifold because there are a hole heap of them that you don't use.

I'm using a set of his camber tops too and wouldn't mind putting some new bearings in. If I think of it tomorrow I'll ask him if he still has the part number handy.

I have a fairly accurate CAD model of a crossmember to suit. I modelled it on mine which mounts the motor slightly further forward than the Maddat crossmember for firewall clearance. I know everyone uses them but the extra space it handy.

If you have a copy of solidworks I'm happy to send you the model so you can take some measurements off it.

Yesterday Adrian (boofhead) and I went to Winton raceway with the wrx club. It was a perfect day for racing with clear skies and mid 20's temp.

We both had issues getting through scrutineering but I've concluded that they choose to pick on the older cars just because there's never anything to pick up on with a near new wrx. Apparently the scrutineer I had was cursing "that bloody datsun" all morning after passing my car without needing anything changed (we have history)

My best time for the day was a 1:44.3 and think adrian did a 1:58 although I'll let him confirm that. Despite having some spongy brake issues the car ran well all day and went quicker than plenty of wrx's and evos.

The day was soured a bit when a young bloke put his R33 into a wall in one of the last sessions of the day. It was pretty bent and may be a write off.

Pics and vids are on the way. Short compilation of the day
