As stated above, I need a complete diff with handbrake parts as well as a 4 spd manual tailshaft.

It's for a 4 door sedan but I don't think that makes a difference?

Located in MELBOURNE

You can just get one from the front wheel drive exa's. They only have the two pulleys.

Series 1 and 2 Bluebirds had L20's in them. The series 3's had the CA20. This means that you have all of the gear you don't want. You would perhaps put an L20 in a 1200 but you wouldn't bother with a CA20 as they're a piece of junk.

LIke Tyrie said, The diff is a H190 which is a big strong diff, but no use to you because they are virtually impossibly to get LSD's for, the centres won't fit in a ute diff(like the H165) and would have to be shortened to fit in a 1200.

I drive a series 3 bluebird everyday and I can confirm they are a piece of junk. I would recommend that you pull that diff centre out and check that it isn't an LSD. At the off chance it is, those couple of gears are worth 10 times the rest of the car!

Did ya hear that???

CA's are a girly motor!

It pretty much depends on how much money you have to spend and how much power you want to make. If you want in excess of 200rwkw I would say go for the FJ cause you can make that easily on a standard bottom end. Anything under that and I'd say go for the CA.

For a suspension travel of 3 inches and a horizontal Panhard rod of 30 inches (centre to centre) there will be a maximum lateral misalignment of 0.9 mm.

This lateral misalignment could be more than halved if you set the panhard rod to sit at rest below horizontal so through the 3 inches of suspension travel 1.5 is done below horiz and 1.5 above horiz.

You can still use the standard computer. The computer is independant of the gearbox except for the speed sensor but you don't need that anyway.

Mate you didnt' have any trouble with the Maddat kit because you modified your tunnel before you even tried to fit the gearbox in it! The maddat kits definitely need tunnel mods even with the Stumpy gearbox.

Sure they work but it's not as simple as it sounds

What about another possibility.

Buy the 1600 as well. Tidy it up, put some of your hoarded bits into it to trick it up a little, then sell it for a tidy profit. Then there's no hard feelings with cam because he's already making a profit by selling it to you?

Then put that money into the wags for a heater and new door and a bunch of cans of paint!

Mate, a gearbox is more likely to hold up in a lighter car because it doesn't have to move as heavy a mass, you don't get the same sorts of loads on the driveline. Not to mention the fact that you will probably have smaller wheels and tires than a big car which work as a torque limiter by slipping!

An RB25 box will cost you a mint so unless you are going to get serious with the car, find an RB20det box. They go pretty cheap.

As far as I know you can use an automatic ecu, you just don't need the automatic unit itself. You do however, have to trick the computer into thinking it is in park all the time because the autos had to be in park to start.

Yeah maybe I'm just cut.

Or maybe it was the only thing I could think of that didn't contain rude adjectives like "nerd". Don't start the mud slinging because I don't like to be rude.
